Immigration plan ruinous

  • Follow Letters

President Obama’s plan to legalize 12 million illegal aliens would be disastrous to our country. Unfortunately, the establishment in both the Republican and Democratic parties are getting behind his effort to pass a “pathway to citizenship.”

We have 20 million Americans who are looking for work. What sense does it make to put millions of illegals in front of the employment line to hold or take American jobs? During the campaign, I remember Obama saying he was for the working man, did I not?

It would allow amnestied aliens to begin endless chains of relatives to come and add further competition for jobs and government resources. Also, a recent study showed it would add $2 trillion to our already out-of-control deficit.

Amnesty and illegal immigration undermines U.S. workers. We need a president to say “America first” and “Americans first!” Your citizenship should matter!

My complaints about visa rules and immigration policy

are not even addressed in the current bill. There are many countries where we, as US citizens, can show up with only our passports, and be good for 90 days as a tourist, yet we make it as difficult as possible for their citizens to even visit us here at home.

Rome liked including everyone as citizens.
Unpublished

Particularly barbarians, anarchists and pagans. Great Britain followed suit as the successor of Rome. And now America as the standard bearing for these former world powers follows suit. Ah, the magic of history repeating itself. The cycle of life. With one wheel missing!!!!

Not a melting pot, but a Cobb salad. Divide and conquer.

What is your definition of

What is your definition of "put down roots? " The only good thing about Obama's economic policies is that he has turned off the magnet that attracts illegals. He has put an end to job creation !

Please, An Answer!

Would someone that proclaims the liberal-progressive-democrat mindset, please tell us what it is going to take, from the guy sitting in the oval office, for you to ever See that the downfall of America and life as we know it, is gone because of him(fundamentally change, in his words)! I know the meaning of "the blind leading the blind", I wonder if any of you do..........!

Some, yes, maybe not as many as you might think. Still, ask yourself why?

Forget it, I'll tell you why. Because historically, Americans have been self-sufficient, law abiding and responsible. We pay our own way.

We are not regarded as deadbeats who game their economy and disregard their laws. We have always left more money in their countries than we have taken out. That's why we have always been welcome.

That may well end when our stable economy dies...

Any questions??? Didn't think so....

legal citizens...

we need productive people in our economy no matter what one's partisanship may be. Bringing in 12 million hard working tax payers is a good thing in macroeconomics. The math does not lie. We need a supply of the exact kind of labor over the next 20 years that these people can fill. It is pie in the sky to think that inner city labor can fulfill these future needs. Put your Nationalism aside and recognize that the assimilation of these 12 million people will actually be a good thing. and to those who just spew invective for political reasons, I say, don't listen.

"I say, don't listen."

No, what you are really saying is DON'T THINK!

Unemployment numbers through the roof and not getting any better and you think we "need" lawbreakers to flood in here just to keep those numbers high.

Better to just keep paying welfare to our own rather than train and employ them.

Liberals don't think, they simply react emotionally.

'train and employ them'.

hate to break the news to so many, but those 12 million are already working, feeding their families, etc. Bringing them into full citizenship is not an emotional issue as some would suggest, it is good economics.

I think before one illegal is

I think before one illegal is even given a hope of staying here the fench between the US and Mexico should be built. Two layers with motion sensor hight tech detection devices in between the layers. Illegals that want to become citizens should be required to spend two weeks a year helping build it, they seem to be one of the few groups in America that wants to work!

"those 12 million are already working,....

feeding their families"

AND sending billions of dollars back to Mexico. Dollars that could be paid to Americans, replacing those currently doled out to welfare recipients.

Dollars that could be used to train disillusioned, and discouraged out of work Americans to become useful and productive. Dollars that could be recycled to balance our budget and reduce our deficit.

"What is your definition of

Diversion as usual. Reagan's

Diversion as usual. Reagan's compassion was predicated on the agreement that it was a one time thing and the majority Democrat congress would eliminate the "attractance" and seal the border. As has been SOP, they lied and didn't do what they committed to do. They have, and continue to play the Republicans for suckers because the Pub's honor their word.

Faithson, the math surely

Faithson, the math surely does not lie; the social costs of illegals is astronomical. California is about broke because of it. We cannot afford to add to the lower socioecomic dependent class we already have.
