Thanks for aiding Imperial

I am very excited to report that the Imperial Theatre reached its goal of raising its match of $250,000 toward a $1 million special-purpose local option sales tax grant.

As chairman of the capital campaign of the incredible Imperial Theatre, I would like to thank and acknowledge all of you who have contributed to our efforts for Phase One of our ongoing capital campaign. Without your generous support, the theater would not be able to continue the ongoing restoration of this magnificent venue. These dollars will be used to repoint the bricks; replace the old fire escapes and fire curtain; and update portions of the HVAC and electrical systems.

The fact is, there is more that needs to be done to restore this 95-year-old theater to its earlier grandeur, including reworking the interior plaster work; painting; rewiring; updating the heating and air-conditioning; restoring the original Wurlitzer organ; and so much more that will make this entertainment palace one of the most beautiful and near-acoustically perfect theaters anywhere.

We are very fortunate to have the Imperial in our community. And, as an independent nonprofit theater, there is so much more we need to raise over the next five years as we approach the Imperial’s 100th anniversary in 2018. It will take $6 million to $8 million more to fully restore the theater and add guest conveniences such as an elevator, updated restrooms, new concession areas, balcony seating and more.

It’s truly incredible what we have in store for the incredible Imperial Theatre! If you’d like to contribute to the next phase of the capital campaign fund, please visit our website at www.imperialtheatre.com or call (706) 722-8293. All donations, including in-kind support, is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all our CSRA supporters and fans.
