Immorality breeds violence

  • Follow Letters

The “ban guns” mentality rests on a false premise: Man is basically good. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, no not one.” No man or woman can earn salvation; they must trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Having watched thousands of movies and TV crime shows, I know that criminals look for vulnerable victims and avoid those who are not. Crime is increased in areas where guns are banned. It tells armed criminals and mentally deranged people that they will have an advantage over their proposed victims. Gun bans embolden them.

The breakdown of the family unit and rampant immorality are the causes of much of the violence. Dysfunctional families and bad parents are everywhere. Playing a violent video game does not ensure that an overt violent act will be committed. If there are no moral inhibitions against the violent acts, then violent games train the killer. In a blame society, the need to stop the hated with an overt violent act becomes normal.

There probably are less overt violent acts now than in the 1920s in Chicago during Prohibition. What now occurs is simply available 24-7 in many forms of media.

It is relatively safe in Israel even though the country is surrounded by people who desire to kill them. This is because both young men and women in Israel serve in the military and are trained for combat. Potential murderers know that a response to their crime will be quick and with overwhelming force. A terrorist is very hard to stop because many are willing to die for their beliefs. They – like a mentally deranged person – do not worry about a response.

Turning guns into playground equipment sounds great. But many ideas based on false premises have sounded great and have resulted in tragedy. Turning swords into plowshares is only possible when Jesus the Messiah is on his throne!

Look folks.....you can

Look folks.....you can pontificate all you want, thump bibles, spew liberal agenda, and just shoot your mouths off in general. But here are a few facts:

There are nutcases loose in our society with NO system to treat or control them.

Like it or not, there are guns loose in our society and always will be. If you ban guns they will stream across our unsecured Mexican border just as easily as do drugs and illegal aliens, and oh by the way....they've got the good stuff.....you know.....the REAL fully automatic military grade weapons. Now, I own a gun or two, all legal and registered in my name. And I know gun owners. IF you took my guns I would buy black market guns and so would most of the gun owners I know. And they will be readily available for the right price to me AND to all of the untreated nutcases roaming the streets. Putting a "ban" on any kind of guns will work just about as well as prohibition worked for alcohol.

And lastly, your kids are forcibly placed in a concentrated, totally unprotected free fire zone 5 days a week.

Now, your mission, if you decide to quit running your mouths and accept it , is to do the ONLY thing that MIGHT possibly help protect your kids in their currently totally unprotected schools. You've had your wake up call.

Now you consider what I've said above and do what your think your conscience can live with.

It only sounds silly if...

one fails to realize that movies, violent TV (and video games) have been the training ground for so much of the violence, especially coming from the mentally fragile and socially inept or rejected.

And you could just as well learn the same lessons from high quality PBS shows like Nova and Nature. It's abundantly clear to anyone with a lick of sense that predators always seek weaker targets rather than targets that might fight back successfully.

So, Fedex, exactly what sounds so silly to you?

I wonder what institution
Unpublished

I wonder what institution offers a criminal justice degree for watching thousands of movies and crime shows? The notion that video games or violent movies are cause and effect to violence is easily refutable by the fact that millions seen this types of films and play these types of games, yet these same millions of people are not committing crimes. The writer contradicts himself on this and other points...and then there is the magical thinking...

The writer could just as...

... well have said, "from reading news reports and watching TV documentaries of real crimes." Leave it to the libs to be guided by their agenda and emotions rather than the facts. The guy is guided by the facts but fails to parse his own words and the knee jerker mentality is to immediately pounce.

Show me where the writer is "advocating for Israeli style Culture..." because he never did. He simply pointed out that it exists. It exists because it has been forced upon them. It may be forced on us soon as well. (Just for the record, I spelled Israeli correctly.)

History has shown over and over again, that the man who beats his sword into a plowshare ALWAYS ends up pulling the plow for the man who retains his sword. It NEVER fails!

Violence Breeds Violence

Someone can claim that "immoral" behavior leads to violence, but the fact is that violent behavior leads to violent behavior. Not immoral behavior.

If a child witnesses his father physically beating his mother, or his mother verbally abusing his father, that becomes a normal pattern of behavior for that child. They have been taught that violence is a normal household occurrence and so it continues into the next generation.

The majority of human cultures are violent. You may find a tribe somewhere in the rainforests of South America or some far-flung island who live quiet and gentle lives, untainted by other nations, but that is rare.

Murder is a crime that occurred in the earliest Bible accounts, as well as the slaughter of children and entire villages. Armies decimated entire cultures and every nation, with the exception of a few, endured unimaginable bloodshed.

Our problem is that we ACCEPT violence. There are parents that would be okay with their kids seeing a murder on a TV show - but become totally distraught if their kids saw a woman's nipple.

Americans love their guns and violent sports. We lock up more human beings than other nation on the planet. One of the most popular TV shows features detailed recreations of shootings, stabbings, and bludgeonings. We are one of the few nations that still have a death penalty, a distinction that we share with China, Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan and Vietnam.

Americans love their violence. It is a core aberration in this culture that might never be corrected.

You practically say that it is a given. I submit that you would be hard pressed to prove that it always happens.

More often than not, violence..

.. IS immoral behavior. When it's not, sports etc, big deal! Let's not split too many hairs here. Some of us embrace the death penalty because you can't argue the fact that there is absolutely NO recidivism where it's used. Others would argue against it, even if the murderer is caught on video, raping, torturing and killing their own mother, wife and baby daughter. That's never going to change. Every life is precious? Yes, right up to the moment that it's proven not to be.

Don't muddy the facts by comparing the United States to Iran or China where people are put to death for "insulting the Prophet" or selling a gram of marijuana etc. That's just totally ridiculous and tells any rational person you aren't to be taken seriously.

Immorality has severe consequences; now and later

The problem with immorality, dysfunction, character defects ...all of which are other words for SIN...is that it grows into greater sins and is handed down into the fourth generation; and then perpetuates again and again unless the sin is broken by confession and repentance through Jesus Christ. Sin never remains the same thing or the same degree. A great illustration is the life of King David. His bad choices grew from his own sexual promiscuity into sibling rape and murder. Numerous examples of the same thing happening right here today in our city could be listed as well.

Does bad behavior always gets passed down? No, but ONLY IF that behavior is recognized as wrong and there is confession and repentance made in the name of Jesus Christ.

The problem we have in our society is that we are losing touch with what is wrong. Many people say, "what's wrong with that, when they should be saying what's RIGHT about that?"

We are becoming desensitized by immorality. CNN's New Year Show last night with Anderson Cooper and his best friend Kathy Griffin is a perfect example on the depravity that we are living in that passes for good entertainment and role models.

The Good NEWS though, is that the same is true for morality, healthy living, godly living; it also grows. That's the whole point of the generational pass downs. Curses produce curses and blessings produce blessings.

Very apt time of year to be asking ourselves, what am I passing down? Blesses or curses to my children and their children.

The breakdown of the family

The breakdown of the family is the immorality .

The most socially valuable attribute of marriage these days according

to the national media is the pimping & promoting the homosexual

lfestyle & agenda .

9 out of 10 of these mass murderers are still clinging to their mama's

apron . Mama being their God & sole head of household .

Look no further than our mass sadistic killers in this area ?

The day they knocked on the door to slap the cuffs on Paul Coon who

kidnapped a woman from National Hills parking lot and took her off to

be slowly tortured to death who was standing right there by him ?

Not daddy , you guessed it , MAMA .

And he started crying to her right there , this full grown big bad killer of

defensless women , started crying like a baby to his MAMA as they

hauled his worthless butt away.

Same with Ted Bundy , same with the most recent school shooter ,

movie theater shooter , etc,etc,etc,,,,,& etc .

You can go to any death row in this country and I'll even spot you

20% of them as having a daddy to speak of , and I'd still win by a

long way.

The vast majority of them being Mama's boys alone .

You can do the same thing with the entire prison population for that

matter.

It is no coincidence that the majority of unmarried mothers voted

for the party that sought to ban any mention of God at their

last national convention , promotes the death of the unborn and even

partially born and seeks to pimp out the institution of marriage as a

vehicle to promote the lowest common denominator of disease ridden

human behavior .

Overaged mama's boys & no daddy to speak of.

What about those people who

What about those people who stood by, offering no help whatsoever and watched her being physically knocked off her feet and stuffed into a car while begging for help? What kind of a person does that?

Just remembering...brings back such sad memories for many who knew her.

Here Are Some Real Murderers

Let's discuss real mass murderers. Since some people on this opinion board believe that absent fathers are to blame for all of society's ills, let's take a look at some real facts.

Adolph Hitler, murdered 12 million, had 2 parents, Clara and Alois.

Joseph Stalin, murdered 6 million people, had 2 parents, Ekaterina and Vissarini, studied religion at seminary for 11 years

Pol Pot, murdered 1.7 million people, had 2 parents, Pen Saloth and Sok Nem, his father was a successful landowner and farmer

Leopold II of Belgium, responsible for 10 million Congolese murdered and tortured, 2 parents of royalty, Leopold I and Louise

Mao Tse-Tung, responsible for 45 million deaths, had 2 parents who were wealthy farmers

François "Papa Doc" Duvalier, responsible for 50,000 murders, had 2 parents, a teacher and a baker

There are hundreds of other murderers who committed genocide that could be added to this list. It is not the absence of a parent, but the choices that the child makes for him or herself. There is no one to blame but the murderer.

Fatherless

I would say that a "fatherless family" has a huge consequence, for both sons and daughters, but it is not a sentence of crime passed onto every offspring. There is a true breakdown of the American family and we are all paying a huge price for it in society, but fatherless families are not the only ones that are broken. A family can be virtually "fatherless" even with the father in the home.

As to the murder theory, common sense would tell us that murder falls into more than one category with the most heinous of them involving some degree of mental illnesses.

I'd also note that the above mentioned story on Paul Coon's abduction and murder of a local Augusta resident, should have never happened. As memory serves me, he had previously abducted and raped an Aiken S.C. nurse and received an inappropriate short sentence since she survived the ordeal. This is another if only justice had been served the first time story, his violence would have never had the chance to grow and take a lovely person's life.

Your making my point for me

Your making my point for me .

Adolf Hitler was the king of Mama's boys .

No father to speak of.

There are always exceptions , but studies by secular Universities have

established that the overwhleming majority of children raised in a

broken home turn out to be broken people of varying degrees .

If you want to tell me something why don't you say what % of the

inmates in Reidsville you believe grew up fatherless ?
