Get set for big football

On Jan. 7, 2013, Notre Dame and Alabama will meet in the Orange Bowl to decide the college football national championship.

This might be the most-watched college football game ever.

The last time these schools played for the national title was 1973, with Notre Dame winning a thriller, 24-23.

These schools’ coaches are legendary and their players litter the College Football Hall of Fame. Moreover, Notre Dame recently was honored as the school graduating the highest percentage of student athletes.

This is the first time a school has been No. 1 in graduation success and No. 1 in the Bowl Championship Series – which proves that athletic and academic excellence are not mutually exclusive, and winning the right way is possible.

This country has been through some difficult times lately. Not everything is right with America. But at least in one respect, life is back to normal: Notre Dame is No. 1 again.

Wake up the echoes cheering her name.

Worth Andrews III

Yes, Roll Tide!!! Roll!!!

ND had a weak schedule. No conference playoff. Played only one team in the top ten rankings, Sanford. ND and Bama played one common opponent, Michigan. ND won 13-6. Bama won 41-14

Bama 14 National titles (3rd behind Princeton & Yale since 1869)
Bama 27 SEC Championships
Bama 9th all time winning percentage
Bama Winning record against every SEC team
Bama 34 Bowl Wins *NCAA record
Bama 61 Bowl Appearance *NCAA record
Bama 23 Ten game win streaks *NCAA record
Bama 16 seasons with 10-0 starts *NCAA record
Bama 32 ten win seasons *NCAA record
Bama 9 undefeated, untied seasons *NCAA record

This is a MONEY game. This is a marketing bonanza. No way would the BCS have matched a 12-0 or 13-0 Boise State as Number One in their championship.

Only an intervention by Almighty God will grant a ND win.
This game will set a new gambling record as well. Most will take ND and the 9 1/2 points against BAMA. Looks good on paper. BAMA wins by multiple touchdowns.

ROLL TIDE!! ROLL!!

Oh good, the Catholic Church returns to the limelight in yet another area of organized violence, now that the child molestation press has faded a little...

Used to be that religious folk entered Colosseums as provisional martyrs, not the perps...
