Why not hire more seniors?

Business owners, wake up. Hire retired senior citizens.

Let’s take a look at the advantages:

• We are a wealth of experience and knowledge.

• We have retirement income and Social Security – we are not looking for the big bucks, just extra income.

• We are not looking for a retirement plan.

• We have flexible hours.

• We have medical coverage already; you don’t need to provide it for us.

• We want to be active and involved, and we are outgoing and love to have personal interaction.

• We are reliable and we will be there when you need us.

• We have our own transportation.

• We have a terrific work ethic.

• We are smart; we didn’t get to be this old by being stupid.

• We can pass a drug test.

So, in review, business owners get great advantages, smart, reliable workers, at a bargain price.

With the seniors taking the jobs, it increases unemployment among young people right out of school. No worry, though. The Obama administration has created a safety hammock for them — food stamps, housing assistance, Obamaphones, WIC, Medicaid, etc. Once they become accustomed to government dependency, they become reliable Democrat voters. It will be interesting for us seniors to watch the trends.

The money that
AARP receives from the government was supposed to train and help seniors get jobs. The last I heard, for the outrageous amount aarp receives, maybe they help three people a year. Just another group of ripoff's of taxpayer money! If a senior needs(and can find a job) or wants to work, that's alright by me. On the other hand, I agree with dichotomy!
