There are two roads leading to the White House: the high road and the low road. The low road begins where the high road ends.
Mitt Romney was unwilling to travel the low road, and therefore was not elected president. President Barack Obama won because he was more ambitious and willing to travel the low road to earn the votes of the reprobate and baser elements of the American electorate.
The Occupy Wall Streeters, public assistance recipients and those with despicable lifestyles were the difference in this election. The immoral majority won.

In every Presidential election it's the same thing. People think the Satan party won. It's been that way since this contry was founded.
The difference is that once the President is elected the gloves are supposed to come off and we all get behind whoever won. That was what made this country different than any on Earth. These days it seems that the losers cannot or will not accept that their party lost and they'll be danged if their going to help the President do his job. Yes my party lost but I'm behind our Commander in Chief. I'm not going to whine and hinder my President. I will support him like all US Citizens should do. If you're just going to complain for 4 years why don't you just move to Canada or better yet Mexico. I don't want to hear it.
(sarcasm) I take issue with the letter writer. There is no such thing as immoral, except by current standards accepted by the majority. What was immoral decades ago is now acceptable. Much of what is immoral by today’s standards, will be moral in the coming years. Just think of it! There is just no telling what your grandchildren may do while remaining moral within acceptable bounds of their current society. (sarcasm)

Shrimp, I agree with you for the most part. We should try to support our duly elected leaders. To a certain extent. Also I believe your take on history is a little off. What made this country different was the lawful ability of the citizenry to disagree, loudly and forcefully, with what they believed to be destructive to our republic.

I will not support the President because he is a liar and power hungry with no understanding of what makes America run. Example of Obama’s lies, the death of our Ambassador was due to a demonstration. Then during the debate he said the day after it happened he called it an act of terrorism and had Candy Crowley confirm it. Yet on the Sunday after the attack he had his UN Ambassador running around to all the talk shows calling the killing of our Ambassador a demonstration over a video that got out of hand. When Obama spoke to the UN he referenced the video and the demonstration. Well during one of those statements Obama lied. Then yesterday Obama said the earth is heating up faster than expected. The Best study demonstrates that there has been no warming for over 10 years and you can reference Dr. Judy Curry (co-author of the Best Study) of Georgia tech for that fact. No I won’t support a chronic liar who tries to use his lies and the office of the president to manipulate the public. I want the left who criticized Romney for Lies and flip flops to hold Obama to the same standard. Of course they won’t!
Now this is really strange. I always thought Republicans were the strong supporters of the Constitution and the founding fathers. Yet, when we follow the constitution and the majority express their opinion, they are critizied. Republicans want their cake and eat it too. The Looney Tooneys caused the republicans to lose. You see them as guest for Hannity and other Fox Commentators. i.e. Plain Palain, Bauchamann, West, Rove, That clown that O'reilly has on that is so boring, Beck, Rush, and the list just goes on and on. In REALITY, all the conservatives wanted was to trim the fat BEFORE passing the bill................read pages 1131-1133, and look where we are now obligated to provide COMPLETE medical care to Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and the Virgin Islands; $7B going to Puerto Rico alone. NONE of these entities are required to pay ANY taxes, fees, or penalties back to the US Treasury. WE (republicans AND democrats) now have to foot ALL of the bills for this. THEN go to the section of the new law, that talks about participant eligibility; it states that SS and Homeland Security already know that there will be illegal, ineligible moochers on the program !!! Then in the next subsection of the bill, makes it ILLEGAL to create a federal database to identify and track those who are receiving services illegally.
EVERY DEMOCRAT, that I have shown this too, stated that they did not like it, and these things should be taken out !!!! The real problem, is that when HR3962 was being "pushed" so strongly, the ONLY part democrat voters could or would hear was..........."the republicans want to deny quality healthcare to American citizens who cannot afford adequate medical insurance." In the OFFICIAL title of the bill, the last four words tell all of the story............sure it is a healthcare bill, but the title ends with these words........."and for other purposes."
How do we support our duly elected leaders when they're at odds with each another? In my case, the president wants one thing, but the duly elected senators from my state want something much different. The president was elected to lead us one way, and the senators were elected to stop him.
I am still waiting for an Obama voter to give me a good solid reason they voted for him. Retired Army tried the other day but I refuted his reasons using facts and never heard from him again. Young Fred, you're right about the terms "moral" and "immoral." They're subjective like the terms "right" and "wrong." Mores and norms vary from culture to culture and change over the years.
That's why I prefer biblical terms (e.g., "sin," "righteousness"). They represent absolute standards from an eternal, unchanging God. Sadly, this election was carried by a majority of voters who didn't let biblical principles guide their decisions.

Raising taxes on the top 1 % will do nothing to reduce the federal debt. Does anyone disagree with this point? You could confiscate "all" of the wealth of the 1 % and only have enough to fund the government for 3 months. In 1916 the richest man in the country was J.D. Rockefeller and his wealth alone could have paid off the entire national debt. Today you could combine the wealth of the 2 wealthiest, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett and only have enough to pay " the interest" on the national debt for 3 months. Is this a taxing problem or a spending problem?

Just yesterday Pelosi, standing with her gaggle of admirers made the statement that the billions taken from Medicare by the Dems were to extend the life (?!) of Medicare -I know..it was to support Obamacare-
anyhow, she said that the Repubs wanted to take that same money to give tax breaks to the wealthy. Vicious, mean..vile...Not all, but way too many Democrats have trashy mouths, to them lies are okay, and an useful way to make fun of those who don't bow to them..

Many times I have read posters who say that Obama has not followed the Constitution, That he has shredded it and trated it like it didn't even exist.
