Make Roundtree sheriff

  • Follow Letters

I wholeheartedly support Richard Roundtree for sheriff of Richmond County, and ask the voters to give him the majority Nov. 6.

Roundtree has the training, experience, work ethic, technical savvy, leadership skills and personality to move the sheriff’s department into the 21st century and reduce crime in our area.

I have attended a couple of his forums and talked with him personally. I am convinced that, if elected, he will become an outstanding sheriff who will make us all proud.

I am impressed with his platform and community covenant. Also he wants to implement the following programs, policies and procedures as your new sheriff:

• a citizens advisory board;

• community policing;

• police reserves;

• accreditation and certification for the department;

• greater use of the latest technology;

• a gang and drug task force;

• updated procedures for staff accountability;

• a citizens review board.

Remember, this election will determine whether crime in our area will continue to grow or be reduced.

Roundtree is very capable to lead the sheriff’s department into the future to provide the very best protection for all our citizens. So let us go out, beginning with advance voting Oct. 16, to vote for Richard Roundtree, a great crime-fighter.

Tracy E. Williams Jr.

seabeau.....I don't know why

seabeau.....I don't know why my thumbs up thingy ain't working but you hit the nail on the head. His record at the RCSO is flakey and his main function at the RCBOE seemed to be to ensure certain embezzlers did not face any prosecution.

If he is elected I am taking odds it will be less than a year before the first investigation/scandal/sexual harrassment and/or reversie discrimination lawsuit.

It's amazing to me how many people who opposed him are now signing up to say he is something he never was and never will be.

It's not called crime reduction just because you don't arrest them. If he's all that and a bag of chips let him debate Sanders. He won't though because he would be exposed for what he is. A panderer. Still waiting on someone to tell us if he has been collecting a check from RCBOE the entire time he has been "off duty".

A sound and thoughtful letter
Unpublished

A sound and thoughtful letter of endorsement for Roundtree and many in the minority community feels the same and will vote for him. In fact, he will win. But that win will only further demonstrate what most people of color already know: Laws are enforced selectively and prosecuted selectively based on ethnicity (of course its not spoken openly) so every decision made by Roundtree as Sheriff will be reviewed by the media, then leaks from inside the department will beg for more answers, then some former officer "step forward", thus a circus. To counter this coming attack, he must demand exceptional legal minds within his circle and demand a personal confidence in all key positions. This won't stop the attacks, but knowing who is on whose side is critical to success in such jobs. Good Luck Bro, ya gonna need it!

Roundtree

"updated procedures for staff accountability"

The Lord in heaven knows that's certainly needed. There are still some law enforcement folks that do not understand the rights of citizens and go around intimidating and bullying innocent people.

My vote is for Roundtree.

Thank you to ALL the

Thank you to ALL the crossover Republicans who made this possible.

If in fact the ACES is endorsing Richard Roundtree, Freddie should be putting the final touches on his concession speach. If not, he should be drafting his concession speach.

Creditability issues, Ethical issues, Professional Issues

judgement issues, evidence control issues, relationship issues with female officers, management issues, and on and on.

Roundtree is one issue after another.

Mr. Roundtree please fill us in on the latest issue.
While the facts are still being collected and likely the AC will publish them shortly. What is this about failing to re-certify yourself, or the RCBOE Police force?

One last thing.
Regarding Mr. Roundtree's statement about being understanding and giving 2nd chances to people arrested. UNLESS HE BREAKS THE LAW, HE CANNOT DO IT. It is NOT in his power as sheriff to UNARREST someone it is solely up to the Solicitor General to drop charges. It is a law and legal procedure to keep GA sheriffs from releasing arrested people for political, bribes and friendship reasons. So unless he has every deputy call him on the side of the road, before making an arrest he has another issue.

Law-Legal Issues an a failure to understand the O.C.G.A. The very laws he would take an oath to enforce as sheriff.

OH! Wait, He has taken a similar oath to enforce the laws of GA... so maybe we have another issue a Selective Memory Issue.

Yes, Just one problem after another.
Do we really want a person with this many documented problems and issues enforcing the Richmond Co. Laws?

It's October and all the grapes should be sweet by now.
