Regents lacking in humility

As an Augusta College alumnus, I’m disappointed that the Georgia Board of Regents voted to name the new university after themselves. I could stomach having another body name the combined schools “Georgia Regents University,” but to have the regents do this displays a profound and disturbing lack of humility.

I urge the regents to admit their mistake and select another name. They would regain my respect by doing so.

If they choose to cling to their decision, “Georgia Regents University” will always have a hollow sound to me.
