Another war lacks support

Are we now preparing to get involved militarily to bomb and attack Iran on a strong suspicion that they are developing nuclear arms?

There are at least 10 countries with nuclear arsenals, some of whom have threatened us over past decades. We never have assumed that right to attack them because of their threats. We do have sufficient retaliatory forces to make it suicidal for anyone to attack us, to be sure.

Yes, our recent Mideast policy – in the past 11 years – was triggered by the massive al-Qaida attack on our country on Sept. 11, 2001, and we responded appropriately against their Afghanistan sanctuary with international support. However, expanding the war into Iraq with limited forces, again, was questionable even among our own military leaders. Saddam Hussein wasn’t our enemy – he was Iran’s enemy, remember?

We have drained our resources for 11 long years to near-bankruptcy. President Obama and now Mitt Romney guarantee our military will be unleashed against Iran at Israel’s urging to block Iran’s nuclear arms development, with Romney saying “this should be America’s highest national security priority.”

We have no international support for another preventative war.

God has led to billions of deaths. Has God benefited from these deaths? Who has benefited?

Very good letter. Keep writing.

My name is Timothy ( Tim ) Monroe Bledsoe. The reason that I put my name to this comment is because I believe in your letter and support what you have written ! Our tax dollars are not be the most important lose of The Afghan and Iraq Wars, but these financial loses can not be taken lightly. It goes without saying that the thousands of U.S. Troops that have died or permanently harmed are without question the greatest lose ! It was President George W. Bush that put The U.S. and The Troops in these asinine wars, but President Obama has failed to get The U.S. out as he has had plenty of years to do ! I don't care if it is a Republican, a Democrat, an Independent, "or a Marsion", for that matter, I just want The U.S. and The Troops out of these very dangerous conditions ! I truly believe the next president owes this to our country ! Thanks again for being bold enough to submit this letter !

WAR! huh Good God Y'all!

Who is it good for? Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, commodity dealers, international arms dealers, anyone profiting from war contracts and politicians.

History doesn't lie save for those who try and rewrite it all the time or flat out ignore it.

Secretary of War, Simon Cameron, was forced to resign in the mid 1800's because of his corruption relating to war contracts.

During the latter part of the 1940's, Andrew J. May, Chairman of the Committee on Military Affairs, was convicted for taking bribes in exchange for war contracts.

In more modern times former CIA Director James Woolsey stepped down because he was profiting from and promoting the Iraq War.

US Senator Dianne Feinstein and Richard Blum, made millions of dollars from Iraq and Afghanistan contracts through their company, Perini.

Iran can't even produce its own gasoline. They are surrounded by 50 plus US military bases and Israel has nuclear weapons even though they officially neither confirm nor deny possessing nuclear weapons, people would be foolish to believe that they don't have them.

Who is the threat again?

Meanwhile China and Russia could level our country in under 15 minutes.
