The mail-order university?

I am not a native to the Augusta area, but I am shocked and horrified that the Board of Regents didn’t put the name “Augusta” in the new name of the university created by combining Augusta State University and Georgia Health Sciences University.

Having lived all over the country, I can say from personal experience that we all knew exactly where Augusta was without ever having been here. “Georgia Regents University” sounds like the name of a great place to get mail-order diplomas.

As a current student at the university, it makes me feel very insecure about my future as a possible GRU grad.
