Allen can help fix Washington

  • Follow Letters

Is Washington, D.C., (a) broken, (b) corrupt, (c) out of touch, or (d) blinded by power? All of the above. The big question is: How do we fix Washington?

Simply put, we need more successful businessmen and fewer career politicians representing us in Congress. We need to nominate Rick W. Allen to go head-to-head with U.S. Rep. John Barrow in November. In Washington, Allen will begin the hard work needed to correct the destructive path that our country is following.

So, why Rick W. Allen? He has 35 years of experience building a successful business from the ground up, and providing a living for hundreds of families. This is an important credential that few members of Congress have on their résumés, let alone a candidate for Congress.

Allen has guided his business through rough economic times and emerged stronger on the other side. We need a leader in Congress who has proven personal experience with making tough decisions to get a business in the black and keep it there. We need a leader in Congress who knows what it’s like to sign the front side of a paycheck.

Without more men and women like Allen in Washington, our debt will continue to grow, and our country will continue down a destructive path.

Elections have consequences, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. There are very few areas of our lives that are not affected by Congress. The more politicians we send to Congress, the less chance we have to correct
our course. Isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result?

On Aug. 21, let’s nominate a conservative businessman as the Republican candidate for Congress. Vote for Rick W. Allen.
