Let candidates pay debts

  • Follow Letters

The two candidates for president should take all the money they and their parties raised and put that money toward paying down our nation’s debt instead of wasting it on putting each other down.

I don’t think our nation can still afford all this money wasted in presidential elections by candidates putting one another down. There ought to be a federal law that all money raised by all candidates in federal elections should go to paying off our nation’s debts to foreign nations. After all, isn’t it elected federal officials who created the debt in the first place, going to war under false pretenses?

Good thing we can research on

Good thing we can research on our own or people would assume some of the more damaging claims may be correct. Bush debt 5T over eight. Obama debt 5.3T over three and growing. As far as what the biggest contributers to our debt are within our budget look at President Obama's mid-year budget report to congress for 2010. The revenue chart is good too. http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BUDGET-2010-MSR/pdf/10msr.pdf

Good luck with that...the national debt is OVER 15 TRILLION, 5 of that in just the last 3 and a half years! That's the "hope and change" Obama gave us.
