Reactionaries set up to fail

  • Follow Letters

Even in the Roaring Twenties, many experienced extreme hardship that private charity could never overcome. The magnificent FDR overcame the reactionaries of his time with the equally magnificent New Deal, to which the Fair Deal, the New Frontier, the Great Society and the New Covenant made the nation even better for all Americans!

Stop with any silly and dangerous prattle about how you had no help when you certainly did from some level of government! Why visit your hardship on others?

Chief Justice John Roberts rendered the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act the way to that more abundant life!

The mandate only falls on about 1 percent of people – the would-be free riders who can pay for their own insurance. Other people and small businesses will receive subsidies to pay adequately for their private insurance. Once the exchanges come into play in 2014, then people and businesses get to pay less, because they can opt to get insurance more to their liking.

Most Americans love most parts of this magnificent act; their aversion to the mandate is now moot. Already it’s 46 percent to 46 percent for and against it, and the “for” surely will rise above 60 percent soon.

The Koch brothers and other reactionary plutocrats and con-job-servatives do not run this Union! We the people will win again in November with re-elected Barack Hussein Obama!

Gov. Willard M. Romney cannot win by lying! Yes, the Republican bait-and-switch scam will lose! Again, it’s more real spending power for all with us Democrats!

As one libertarian website notes, Scandinavians enjoy a relatively free market, despite what the late U.S. Sen. Barry Goldwater prattled. And Ronald Reagan erred colossally in 1961 when he denounced proposed Medicare.

Reactionaries, denounce and weep! Your nonsense will fail in November! Reactionary lying ads will fail!

I hope for intelligent discussion, not the usual reactionary bromides!
Fellow liberals and Lincoln- TR-Ike Republicans, thanks in advance for your adding to this discussion!
Even Tricky Dick gave us OSHA, the FDA and the EPA.Were he a better person, he'd be ranked in the top ten along with Obama come his re-election! The Siena Poll would have said so.Clinton is now in 13th place and Reagan in the 16th.
Love America and make her better! Love Georgia and make her better! Make this city-county better! And please, don't be a litter bug!

Such a positive LTE ends with

Such a positive LTE ends with "Reactionaries, denounce and weep! Your nonsense will fail in November! Reactionary lying ads will fail!?" Who were you talking about?

- The President, a democrat, recently reacted to a SCOTUS decision by stopping its support to a state.

- Democratic Presidential campaign ads attacking Governor Romney's Bain Capital record are misleading and inaccurate.

- The penalty that was absolutely not a tax is ruled a tax according to the highest court in our land, but it's still not a tax according to the "White House".

OK Morgan Lynn Griggs

OK Morgan Lynn Griggs Lambeth- You get the same question I have been asking all Obama supporters for the last day or so. Obama has increased the Federal debt more in 4 years than Bush did in 8 years. How much longer can we support this and what is Obama's plan to end the spending spree? Remember when Obama promised revenue neutral spending?

They keep saying "The mandate

They keep saying "The mandate only falls on about 1 percent of people – the would-be free riders who can pay for their own insurance."

But they never say who pays for the percentage of people who can't afford insurance and don't pay now. Who is going to pay for them because someone will have to pick up the bill for this (either through increase premiums, higher deductibles/copays, taxes, or reduction in policy service).

It's great while it lasts,

It's great while it lasts, but other people's money ALWAYS runs out. Medicare will go bankrupt in not too many more years.

Similarity with Soviet Union

What's amusing is the similarity of statements from liberals pushing more government and anti-business, anti-capitalist and anti-religion agendas and the old Soviet Union propaganda machines such as Pravda and Ivestia. It sounds like it came right from them. What happened to that socialist system?

There aversion to Obamacare

There aversion to Obamacare isn't moot but will be decided in the voting booth. Looks like Obama is trailing in swing states. I am surprised people aren't mad because Obama told us his plans for a single payer system and how it would take time for him to do so. So he intentionally has produced a failed plan for a future goal of "fundamental change".

Ms. Griggs Lamberth.........A

Ms. Griggs Lamberth.........A TAX of $500 or $600 on your 1% of the people that you say will be affected will NOT pay for an additional 30 million people added to the healthcare freebie rolls. The rest of that money will be paid by additional taxes and higher insurance prices on the lower and middle class working people. If you are going to write a letter please get real and quit spouting liberal lies.

Scandinavians also enjoy a much different demographic where MOST of their people actually work and contribute to the system. We have a totally different situation here that cannot be compared to Scandinavia. Take a ride by the DFCS office and the truth about the difference between us and Scandinavia will magically appear before your eyes. If you dig into Scandinavian tax policies you will NOT find that 49.5% of their people do not pay taxes. Your Scandinavians argument is not valid. Try using Greece as your argument.

Since Medicare is broke, as predicted, apparently Ronald Reagan was correct.

Not

cannot, have not, will not, tax not, support not, change not, improve not, discuss not, compromise not, look for the good not, allow open dialogue not, work for all not, inclusive not, tolerance not, patience not, WE can overcome not..... always found the cynics to be the 'problem', all that NOT in their political lives. Supported by the likes of this Editorial Board and faux neus. Remember well all those nots during the civil rights debates of the 60's, seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

FYI, we would NOT be so NOT focused if we had NOT a bunch of radical socialists in government trying to destroy this country one edict at a time...
P.S. I did NOT get this from Feaux Nuze...I got it from observing this incredible disaster of a president in action.....

Scandinavian utopia?

Denmark is the freest of the Scandinavian countries. All rank below the U.S. The top income tax rate is 55.4 percent, and the top corporate tax rate is 25 percent. Other taxes include a value-added tax (VAT) and the world’s first tax on fatty foods. The overall tax burden is almost 50 percent of total domestic income. Amounting to more than 55 percent of GDP, government spending is extremely high. Unemployment is above 7%. You need to get your data/rhetoric from somewhere other than moveon.org

I used to be a democrat

I used to be a democrat until I saw what this current administration has done. Now I'm completey turned off. I'm tired of the lies, half truths, and statements made that cannot be backed up with facts. I'm tired of hearing that it's every one elses fault but the one whose fault it really is. I'm really tired of the terrible launguage that liberal supporters say publicly against innocent women. This election I'm voting republican across the board. At least they don't lie, which is one of the 10 Commandments from God.

Besides. When you experience dwindling resources, it is basic common sense to CONSERVE what you do have. You don't go out and charge your credit card up with all new possesions for a momentary bliss. Only the immature who care not about their future will do that.
