Vet deserves our thanks

  • Follow Letters

It is an honor and privilege to know Mr. Calvin Jones, who will receive the Congressional Gold Medal on June 27 (“Vet to receive medal,” June 14).

Having had the pleasure of his friendship for more than 40 years, he has never mentioned his important patriotic accomplishments – only his pride of family, friends and co-workers. Augustans should thank this wonderful man for his selfless contributions to our freedom and this community.

I agree

Real heroes seldom talk about their deeds. Mr. Jones is one of them.
