Energy policy dangerous

For energy independence, President Obama says that we will use “all of the above” – meaning all fossil fuels, wind, solar and battery power. Those last three sources cannot drive our highway and rail transportation systems.

The president and his green companions are fighting tooth and nail to kill our major assets that are driving our economy now and for the next 25 years: coal, oil and natural gas. Mr. Obama and his Environmental Protection Agency already are shutting down all coal-fired power plants right now. Our coal reserves would cover our needs for more than 300 years. Our oil resources could reduce our foreign dependence by more than 20 percent. The administration has forced the denial of public-land drilling leases by 40 percent over the past three years. This blatant hypocrisy has no end – and 40 percent of the voting public still trusts him?

How about natural gas? Three years ago the Sierra Club, a powerful left-wing “green” lobby, hailed a conversion to natural gas with less than half the carbon emission of coal. But now that natural gas has become more plentiful and cheaper, the Sierra Club is afraid that natural gas would become more widely accepted as the alternative fuel because it still has some carbon emission. So now they want to kill the natural gas option, too.

Their favorite wind farms are a terrible monstrosity and have already killed a half million migrating birds, according to the American Bird Conservancy. No outrage from the Sierra Club or the nature-loving public?

Mr. Obama’s skillful rhetoric and our continuing dumbing-down of our school systems result in a socialist propaganda-absorbing public easily manipulated into an eventual dictatorship.

Our great nation’s freedom-loving people need to be awakened to this danger.
