Visitor center looks shabby

  • Follow Letters

The lawns at the Georgia Visitor Information Center on Interstate 20 as one enters Georgia from North Augusta, S.C., is, to say the least, a huge disgrace and embarrassment to the citizens of Georgia.

I spoke with one of the staff on duty there May 27, who told me that the Georgia Department of Transportation is broke. Can anyone in Atlanta save us from being the laughingstock of travelers stopping by this otherwise beautiful visitor center?

Welcome centers

I think the centers are important & should be given the $$ to keep them in repair .....stop giving tax dollars to free loaders & put some on the centers upkeep....I just wish we had some input on this....maybe calling the Gov. would help.

Instead of a lawn, put some kudzu out there. You don't have to water or cut it and it will give visitors a chance to see one of the most prolific plants in the south. Also fire ant beds should be encouraged.
