We witnessed during hurricane Katrina that the feds will unconstitutionally disarm law-abiding citizens. Thankfully there were some county sheriffs on the Gulf Coast who stood up to the feds, and told them they are not going to disarm their citizens.
A candidate for sheriff must realize, if elected he will be the ultimate law authority in Richmond County. He will be sworn to defend his citizens against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
These days, the biggest threats seem to come from Washington, D.C. Obama and his attorney general, Eric Holder, lead the most anti-gun administration in American history.
There will be a day they will come for your guns, and the county sheriff is the last line of defense against these people in Washington.
The bottom line is, our next sheriff must be ready to tell these federal interlopers that he is the one who will decide what is and what is not enforced in the county.
Who will stand up to the feds, and who will bow?
