Make Mike Padgett safer

I’ve heard talk in the past about making Mike Padgett Highway safer, and so far they have added the middle/turning lane on part of the highway, but not at Brown Road – and that’s a dangerous intersection.

Recently a young man lost his life on this highway because a truck coming from the paper mill pulled out in front of him. I have lived off of Mike Padgett Highway for 30 years, and there’s a caution light where the accident occurred. Not good enough! If the authorities care about the loss of life, there must be a traffic light there with no turn on a red light! This could have been avoided.

Please someone do something about this area before more lives are lost – and do it fast!
