Scrutinize 'war on women'

  • Follow Letters

Democrats say Republicans are involved in a “war on women.” We’ll let’s talk about the facts and a war.

Women’s unemployment has gone up since Barack Obama has been president. Many women have lost their health care because they or their husbands have lost their jobs. U.S. education has gone down the drain. Gas prices have doubled. Food prices increase every day!

Women are the heart of our country. They know the truth!

Who is involved in a war on women?

And, lastly I wonder if Obama's teleprompter will get any new rewrites. Obumbler is talking about the Buffet rule. Obama talked about it during the debt ceiling debate. Now he is talking about it again. America now has the highest corporation taxes in the World and fourth highest capital gains taxes. YES let’s raise capital gains taxes and attract more foreign business. What a moron! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDDRiGIUYQo

Facts are fun, but using them

Facts are fun, but using them to create a scenario that can be called a "war on women" is funny. Is there a hidden agenda directed at women? No. Is it a conspiracy? No. It's a gimmick being used by the party driving the economy into the toilet and recklessly expanding the national debt to divert, divide, and hide the damage.

we are all doomed obumler is going to win...he has 57 states and romney will have only 50 states...like all elections the dims will cheat and steal from the dead voting in chicago to the black panthers patrolling voting precencts in philly. they will revise number on unemployment to pitting race against race to garner votes...the modern democratic party of obumler, holder, reid and pelosi is evil.

Women are generally brighter

Women are generally brighter than men and I don't believe that are that dumb to fall for a political ploy. Really the Dems are denigrating women to this one issue of reproductive freedom-as though they are just a walking womb (as though women only have one concern and only worry about birth control).

2010: Republicans gain

2010: Republicans gain control of the US House and numerous state legislatures by campaigning on jobs, jobs, jobs. 2011: The House voted on eight different bills dealing with reproductive rights vs: 2010, three in 2009, and zero in 2008. 26 states enact 69 new limits on abortions rights (http://motherjones.com/mojo/2012/01/chart-day-2011-reproductive-rights). Oct. 8, 2011, presidentiaal candidate Rick Santorum states: "One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country…. Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that’s okay, contraception is okay. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be." August 2011, “I believe that any doctor that performs an abortion, I would advocate that any doctor that performs an abortion, should be criminally charged for doing so.” 2005: “In far too many families with young children, both parents are working, when, if they really took an honest look at the budget, they might find they don’t both need to… What happened in America so that mothers and fathers who leave their children in the care of someone else — or worse yet, home alone after school between three and six in the afternoon — find themselves more affirmed by society? Here, we can thank the influence of radical feminism.” Now who started the "war on women"?

you know its a shame that

you know its a shame that women who want to stay home with their children are ridiculed...i agree both parents having to work is generally hard on children they need parental love and care...and supervision...the sad fact is in some case both parents are forced to work ...we had 4-children my wife worked weekends while i cared for the kids...it works..we were generally poorer than those who had both working full time..but it is doable...its called priorities... .if you aint worried about buying all the latest gadgets. its a choice not a war....in abortion roughly half the aborted are girls...is this not the ultimate war on women...

The 92.3% number is counting 2 months of statistics from over 3 years, one of which Bush was President for 2/3 of the month. Right wing cherry picking.

Santorum went too far in

Santorum went too far in pushing his personal values into the political arena. That is why he is gone now. But even with his personal views he was not advocating a war on women. And there is NOT a war on women from fiscal conservative Republicans.

Most Republicans are mainly interested in a war on big, overreaching government and unsustainable government spending. The issues are the economy and the debt and they are both related.

Yeah, it was a Democratic

Yeah, it was a Democratic official that said, in essence, that a stay-at-home mom has never "worked" a day in her life. Tell that to any mom that has raised kids. What a ridiculous comment.

If there is a war against women, it's not coming from the Republicans.

The war isn't against women.

The war isn't against women. It is against abortion. Until women can reproduce parthenogenetically then they need a man-evolutionarily both are vested in the offspring. Culturally we act like a man has none. A man has just as much say about a conceptus as a female-this is supported by in vitro law suits where both have rights to the frozen blastocyst. While I support a physicians right to give abortions it isn't some inalienable right reserved for women. Women have a right to privacy but should they alone hold the keys to our reproductive future as a species. Although I support abortion I am not big only killing babies. A woman's ova doesn't complete meiosis until fertilization take place (they are frozen in metaphaseII) so really it isn't a functional gamete till a sperm penetrates it. I fully support birth control.
