Quit playing the race card

  • Follow Letters

Speaking as a black conservative, it is so sad when the “race card” is continually used by politicians and liberal voters to explain away the horrible record of President Obama. Yes, he was handed the gigantic problem of a very fragile economy, but he campaigned on the idea that he was up to the task of dealing with it.

Instead, he made matters worse by saddling the nation with a health-care overhaul that most Americans did not want, and topped it off with a trillion-dollar so-called “stimulus” package that has put this country further in debt than it has ever been – all the while hamstringing any real job recovery by throwing endless regulations at small businesses.

And the president did all this with Democratic control of both houses of Congress while blaming Republicans in the minority for hindering his plans!

These are not racist statements. They are factual statements of how things stand under Obama’s watch, and it is past time for this administration and its supporters to throw away the race card and own up to it.

Thanks Cleve! First, you

Thanks Cleve! First, you immediately played the race card when identifying yourself as a black conservative. The fact is African-Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat in the presidential election. Happened with Carter, Clinton, Gore, Kerry and Obama. Blacks within the party are energized, but believe it or not most don't vote on the basis of race. Myself personally supported John Kerry early on in the primary. Myself and most blacks did not vote for Senator Bruan, Alan Keys nor the leader of all which is black, according to ACES and posters here, Al Sharpton. Blacks faced two choices in the election, Barack Obama or John McCain. Race card, I think not. I do have to opine on a random conservative who is picked from nowhere to speak as the trail blazer for the remaining black race. Dr. King's great niece, Obama's cousin thrice removed or some random dude who is used to be that ray of light speaking to the black race. My point being we don't move in unisome, we are critical thinkers, we form our own individual opinions and we can't be painted with a broad stroke. Some of my closest African-American friends voted for George Bush and Senator McCain. It's great debate and educating for both sides. That's where it ends, because we all have the same rights bestowed on us from the greatest country this world will ever witness. The United States of America. Once each of us step in that voting both, its our decision. And in step with our rights, Happy Easter.

Once upon a time "race card"

Once upon a time "race card" was used between whites and blacks. Now it is mainly Hispanics and whites since Hispanics are the second largest group in the US.

How times does change. You must stay alert or you will be left even farther behind.

Never count your chickens, they might be a long time hatching.
There are far greater things to worry about than different ethnic groups.

These ignorant beliefs only exist because of the color of his skin and because his name sounds "foreign". There's a cottage industry in duping these suckers into believing this nonsense. Joseph Farrah, Orly Taitz, and now "Sheriff Joe",push books and web subscriptions by publishing and pushing nonsense and lies to make a buck off of these ignorant souls. How could anyone possibly think racism could be the root cause for much of the President's opposition? See the above poll numbers.

Techfan These beliefs exist

Techfan These beliefs exist because Obama was never been properly vetted by the press and has kept information about himself hidden. Why hasn’t anyone in the press asked Obama why he won’t release his college transcripts? Why won’t anybody in the press ask Obama about his bloody Sunday remark? Why hasn’t someone in the press asked him about his connection with Ayers and “Dreams of My Father”? Why hasn’t any one asked Obama why he switched his name from Berry Soetoro to Barrack Obama at Occidental College? Why hasn’t the press asked Obama why he lied about his mother’s health insurance? I can go on and on. What about Obama’s poem” POP” , anybody in the press quizzed him about that? Don’t blame skeptical people when it is the press and Obama that have brought on these issues! http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=tom+brokaw+and+Rose+discuss+Obama&mi...

Tfan-Can you provide one

Tfan-Can you provide one serious discussion of the Marxist roots of black liberation theology and Obama being asked about it and how Obama's views may differ from Wright's views? Can you provide one reporter that ask Obama about his belief or views about Critical race theory and Obama's views of the law and the contitution? Any reporter ask Obama about his pre election statement that he wanted to bankrupt new coal fired electric plants?

Let's talk about the race

Let's talk about the race card. Since the later part of the 19th century the majority of black presidential and vice-pres. nominees have been Socialist in particular communist, but also Dem (which I guess now is the same). Because racism associates with low education and low socio-economic group then statistically most african-americans are likely racist too. Then as a race the African population is the lowerst on the totem pole of intellect. Thank God there is no such thing as race. If you want to bait into such nonsense have a field day. Jeez.

I fail to see how Mr. Walker

I fail to see how Mr. Walker "played the race card" in his description of himself. It is well known that most blacks are liberal Democrates and I believe Mr. Walker only used this description as a distinction out of the normal.

If I say I'm a white Christian conservative, I'm not using the race card, only providing a politicial description. Why should it be any different for Mr. Walker? Cause he's black????

Palin??? Well, everyone knows about her now. A liberal writer rented a house next door to spy on her. Her every email has been examined. Everyone she has known since grammar school interviewed. Movies made to slam her. What more could possibly be done? Has Obama been given a fraction of the scrutiny given her?

Palin brought a lot of the scrutiny on herself. To try not to get zapped, I'll phrase it like this: She is a media prostitute. Reality tv show, dancing with the stars, bus tours (ie. a vaction paid for by donations) that just happen to show up in areas Presidential candidates are campaigning and flooded with media. Obama has faced just as much scrutiny, both by the Clinton campaign and the GOP, he just doesn't flaunt being a media figure as she does.

'it is so sad when the “race card” is continually used by politicians and liberal voters to explain away the horrible record of President Obama."

Techfan, I guess your hatred runs so deep you can logically read and comprehend common English. Mr. Walker describes himself as a black conservative individual. He then proceeds to say that it is sad that policians and liberal voters want to use the "race card" to explain away the bad choices and decisions that this current President is making.

How you get that Mr. Walker is using the "race card" is beyond me.
