Obama energy plan ruinous

  • Follow Letters

On March 8, President Obama lobbied members of his own party who control the Senate, asking them to kill the Keystone Pipeline bill that would bring oil from Canada to refineries In the United States. The president and Democrats won and the American people lost, effectively just tossing aside thousands of jobs and millions of barrels of oil to please the environmentalists.

This was done without consideration of the needs of the country he supposedly serves. Based on the actions this president has taken, it is obvious he is a malevolent force working against America and for the destruction of our society as we have known it! Liberal, socialist, Marxist – call it what you will, and it will fit!

The spin this election year is on the state of the economy, unemployment, and high gas prices!

The Obama administration bears responsibility for all these things, with its wrong-headed economic policies, its job-killing regulations and its absolute refusal to recover our own resources. We are blessed with the most abundant untapped energy reserves of anywhere on Earth. Oil is traded with the American dollar as the standard, but the Obama administration has caused the weakening of the dollar by its excessive spending, borrowing and printing of money, causing the price for a barrel of oil to escalate.

Everything that is grown, manufactured and/or transported has a fuel component cost. Inflation is the result!

Supply and demand, and a weak dollar, will force gasoline prices to the high levels the administration desires, and officials will lie and obfuscate about their responsibility while the people struggle. Yet, Democrats and other sycophants will continue to defend the indefensible, to the detriment of the rest of us.

Necessary energy independence will remain but a dream.

Robert Smock

Now Obama's EPA has issued

Now Obama's EPA has issued new guidelines for coal fired power plants that are going to lead to increased costs for electricity for many Americans! I am still waiting to put pond scum in my gas tank. Obama lied about having one thing to do with the lower section of the Keaystone Pipe line. Obama said "I well expedite it". Every thing is in place except one permit from the Corp of Engineers. Obama had nothing to do with it.

Barack Obama told us what he

Barack Obama told us what he planned to do to us back in 2008. One of his destructive promises was to close down coal-fired power plants and to skyrocket the cost of our electricity. Obama continues these efforts to harm our economic recovery.
On Tuesday the EPA instituted new rules that will limit the amount of carbon dioxide that can be released by coal-fired power plants. This will close down power plants and skyrocket our electricity costs, just as Obama promised.
Steve Miller, the President and CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity stated on Tuesday,
“Unfortunately, the EPA continues to ignore the real impact their rules will have on American families and businesses by driving up energy prices and destroying jobs.
“This is another, in a series of new regulations, written by EPA to prevent the U.S. from taking advantage of our vast coal resources that are responsible for providing affordable electricity for America’s families and businesses. This latest rule will make it impossible to build any new coal-fueled power plants, and could cause the premature closure of many more coal-fueled power plants operating today.
“So far, other EPA regulations are responsible for the announced closure of more than 140 electricity generating units in 19 states. The regulation EPA proposed today could raise the number of closures even higher and put more workers out of jobs.
“Rarely is there bipartisan agreement in Washington, D.C., but there is on this issue. This was evident when a bipartisan majority of U.S. House of Representatives recently wrote to President Obama’s Office of Management and Budget urging them to stop this economically-damaging rule.”

Yes, the President has full

Yes, the President has full control of oil prices, not the world commodities market. That's why he's manipulating the markets, so gas can be increasingly higher as we approach an election to increase his favorability ratings, thus insuring his reelection. Robert's logic is flawless :)

Tech, our current duly elected President of The United States of America Barrak Hussien Obama could come out in favor of warm cuddly puppies and this crowd including Mr. Smock would have something bad to say about it.

I wonder what it is that is so different about Barrak Hussein Obama as to generate so much vitriol? What could it be? Hmmmmmmmmm???

I recommend every and all

I recommend every and all take the time to read this article, which does an excellent job of summarizing our American Saudi Arabia in the shales of the Colorado Plateau.

http://dailyreckoning.com/oil-shale-reserves/

Take the time to read it, understand exactly what form our oil reserves are in, and you'll understand why "Drill, baby, drill" is absolute nonsense. The politicians chanting "Drill, baby, drill" are either woefully misinformed or deliberately lying.

debbiep38 as opposed to

debbiep38 as opposed to Palin/McCain? Yup! There was a real choice to be made there wasn't there?

Don't get me wrong because there are some things to admire about Senator McCain. But his choice for a running mate absolutley sealed the deal for any common sense informed American voter.

Now we have this current crop of Bozo's, Palooka's, retreads, extremists, and just plain jokes presented to America as the best and brightest the Republicans have to offer?

Our President doesn't have to spend much campaign money for political advertising production money this season. Just use what's already been put out.

Hey, RA, guess who the next up and coming Republican woman on the national scene will be — that's right, none other than Nikki Haley. She'll be an ethnic minority and a woman. Two birds with one stone. I wonder if the media will "Cain" her?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Retired, much to

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Retired, much to your dismay, I'm sure, we will tell you again, it is Not because of Color! Some of us have known from the beginning, this man called our president is Not good for America. I told people over and over that Obama does not love our country(as you and I do), and no matter what it takes, he is going to do all he can to take us down. I tried to warn people they had not seen anything out of him before he was elected, that he would really show his "colors" once he got into the POTUS. I don't know what color those "colors" are, but you can believe they are not RED, WHITE, AND BLUE!!!!

What energy policy?? His only

What energy policy?? His only plan is like Reagan's Star Wars Missile defense plan-a field of dreams. He only states he wants clean energy because it is linked with our national security. Say what??? Yet he ignores that much of this green science is years from fruition. Some leave a larger carbon footprint than petro. Most are expensive. From solar power to wind power there are caveats to all. Even if gas was no longer needed we still need oil for numerous other uses.

I really wish I knew what

I really wish I knew what part of "we consume more oil than we have in economically recoverable reserves" was so hard to understand. Yet people just don't seem to get it.

When oil shales can be economically produced, then we will have energy independence. Until then, we have no choice but to rely on foreign oil and diversified energy sources here at home -- including renewables.

Chevron thinks it's close to an economical oil shale recovery technology, after actively working on the problem for TWENTY-THREE YEARS. Even if this technology proves viable, it will still take 3-4 years of heating a shale body for the oil to begin to be recoverable.

Fortunately there is a Carbon

Fortunately there is a Carbon cycle that deals with this, although we have depleted sphagnum bogs which is carbon sink the oceans are still the predominate carbon sink. The earth's history is dotted with warm periods driven by increased carbon dioxide. What I find fascinating is the increase in carbon dioxide in recent times also follows the population curve of the planet which has doubled from 1960 to present. We make a lot of carbon dioxide, and likely underestimate our contribution. A similar discovery was made that rice fields in Asia produce the predominance of methane. Wouldn't it be ironic that the only solution will be Soylent Green. It isn't just our activity it is our mere presence. Let's hope Obama doesn't get wind of this because he may start assassinating millions of Americans (without due process) to save the planet-Go Green-Soylent that is.LOL
