Nation losing its morality

  • Follow Letters

Although I do not agree about Rush Limbaugh’s comments about Sandra Fluke – the young lady who wants sexual freedom paid by our taxes – it has gone out of control that the liberals feel they have a chance to silence a man who battles the liberal destruction of our country though high taxes, debt, forced health insurance and socialism.

The hypocrisy is that liberal commentators call conservative women such as Laura Ingraham and Sarah Palin such vile names I cannot write them here. However, President Obama does not phone those individuals and relate his disappointment about the way liberal commentators attack conservative women.

We cannot allow this to continue because, though it is all vile, we cannot lose our freedom of speech. This clearly is an underlying reason the media and Obama have made such a big thing of this. Our country has lost its sense of morality, and there are medical consequences of sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and other sexual problems for which we will all pay.

I’d mention the moral problem, but many in our country see no difficulty in quietly letting us go the way Rome did during its heyday. God help us all.

Ms Fluke was asking the the

Ms Fluke was asking the the health plan at her school include birth control, which it did not. Why do people assume that she was asking for our tax dollars to provide it? Student Healthcare at Georgetown is 100% paid for by Student Health Fees, this was all about her money and what she gets for it. Nothing wrong with that.

The truth is nobody wants to be represented by Rush Limbaugh today because of his indecent remarks. I feel I have to repeat them because people may not know what he said. They are far, far beyond the attacks Sarah Palin and anybody else has endured. I can not remember any major media figure calling Mrs Palin a "slut" and a "whore" and demanding she "post sex tapes for him to watch". Rush Limbaugh made this type of filthy remark directed at that young woman who simply wanted birth control pills fifty-seven times over four days. He had a very public meltdown, obsessed with the subject beyond all reason. I really hope this does not mean his drug problem has resurfaced.

And this is not a Freedom of Speech issue. He has had a huge radio audience and a $50 million a year salary, so he can't say his political views have been suppressed. Nobody is guaranteed a job, a microphone and a radio audience if the people don't like the job you are doing. Companies simply don't want him to broadcast filthy remarks about innocent people and have them pay for it. One CEO was asked why he dropped Limbaugh said "I have daughters"

OK ladies..this crap has gone

OK ladies..this crap has gone far enough.....
I have a solution though.....starting today....women all over the USA will put sex of all kinds on hold....I mean everything!!
We will have 0 sex til you guys get your head on straight.....that means get off our backs about birth control---how & when we use it---we need coverage just like you have viagra....
We love babies & we want them....but at the right time & with the right man.....so stop with the nonesense......stop making us feel like a criminal when YOU are using OUR body!!
Stop the dumb butts you elected to serve you in government because MOST of them are soo old they barely remember even having sex....
You have a choice guys to make things right.....2 weeks ought to do it ladies....by then most won't know how to tie their shoes...

Soooo...this should tick off a few on here today...but hey...SMoores has to have something to do....& for some reason I'm ready to do some ticking off!!!!!

Mr. Henning, while I

Mr. Henning, while I understand some of the points you are trying to make, I certainly would not say Rush Limbaugh and morality in the same sentence. He has not been the best example of morality. The problem is that the liberals have thin skin, they love to dish it out but then get their poor little selves offended and make a big deal out of it when someone says something they don't like.....but when THEY are dishing out the trash talk it is all well and good. Like my mama always said, "if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen".

The letter writer is just a
Unpublished

The letter writer is just a Limbaugh repeater. Conservatives are profitting handsomely from every immoral vice that happens in this country. Limbaugh is a former drug abuser (so he says) and he is a tobacco user and alcohol consumer. Both drugs are killing and ruining millions of lives. That is why healthcare is so expensive. Conservatives own the alcohol and tobacco maunfacturing facilities in this country. They have been addicting Americans with their poison before Barack Obama was born. Furthermore, even the bible says men and women who have sex outside of marriage are immoral. That includes liberals and conservatives. Everyone except the young children is guilty of some immoral act. Honest adults need to stand in front of a mirror and hurl accusations at themselves. It is the liberal and conservative adults who are producing the R-rated entertainment that is being fed to the masses. We have become addicted to violence, sex, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, vanity, and gossip. We have become fools at each others expense. Two wrongs do not make one right. As the bible says, so let a man examine himself. Amen.

Mr. Henning fails to note

Mr. Henning fails to note that our Supreme Court(wrongly in my opinion)has made money an acceptable form of free speech.

So, if American business decides to pull their advertising money from Rush limbaugh is that not a form of free speech? And, it's not like it's a blow to our economy. Those ad dollars will be spent elsewhere.

I can guarantee Mr. Hennings that it was not Liberals who pulled their money from Limbaugh. By far and away the vast majority of business owners who used his services were not Liberals. We don't support vile insanity to start with.

It is heartening to see so many conservative business owners use their resources to condem this hack.

RA, I agree with you about people "speaking" with their money. I can't help but remember though, the people on the left condemning us who pulled support from the Dixie Chicks when they started taking shots at GWB. This "free speech" cuts both ways.

Ms. Fluke's position is about

Ms. Fluke's position is about forcing a private Catholic run institution to pay for and provide something that they are morally opposed to. Ms. Fluke knew of the insurance situation when she accepted the position at Georgetown. This isn't about providing contraception since as I have shown on other threads it is available and cheap to free for her and others. She can avail herself of the free to cheap options without the need to force someone else to give up their morals.

It is true that there is, in no small part, hypocrisy in lambasting Limbaugh on one hand and excusing away people like Maher on the other. People should be aware by now that the left doesn't hold themselves to the same standards as they hold others. ... for that matter neither does the right.
