Obama ruining our nation

  • Follow Letters

We are not hearing about the evils of contraception from the Republicans. We are hearing about President Obama’s apparent dismissal of the First Amendment by telling religious groups they must provide products or services that violate their beliefs. Obama also tells private-sector businesses – i.e., insurance companies – that they must pay for these products or services.

Richmond County Democratic Party Chairman Lowell Greenbaum (“Obama is our truly presidential president,” March 4) wrote of 1.5 million jobs saved by the auto bailout. What is a saved job? Fact: 1.9 million fewer people are working today than when Obama took office. That isn’t “unsubstantiated Republican rhetoric.”

Greenbaum says the Tea Party is trying to diminish women’s rights. Talk about unsubstantiated rhetoric. Greenbaum extolls the virtues of the payroll tax cut and the Medicare compensation of physicians. The payroll tax cut is a bald-faced defunding of Social Security. “Appropriate” Medicare compensation of physicians is causing physicians to drop patients in droves. Greenbaum touts Obamacare as a panacea. But virtually every poll taken shows a majority of Americans want Obamacare repealed.

The economy is in shambles, the housing market has collapsed, our liberties erode daily and the Mideast is afire. And Greenbaum holds up the repeal of “don’t ask don’t tell” as one of Obama’s great accomplishments? I do not think “don’t ask don’t tell” is very high up on the list of things Americans are worried about at this time.

Of course Greenbaum had to highlight that Obama, with “great courage and intelligence,” got Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden’s whereabouts were revealed by enhanced interrogation methods that Obama opposed.

Greenbaum lauds Obama’s choice for secretary of state, Hillary Clinton. The “Arab Spring” turned out to be an Arab nightmare. Countries celebrating the Arab Spring are seeing the emergence of the Muslim Brotherhood as the party that could take control. The brotherhood will impose Sharia law, and it is devoted to the destruction of Israel.

Obama snubs Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, our ally, but apologizes to the Muslim world. Hillary’s “nonstop diplomacy and peace overtures” are giving Iran more time to build a nuke, while the Obama administration scolds Israel publicly and privately.

All of this while the Obama-Clinton team is dismantling our military personnel and weaponry.

Greenbaum seems to be living in a fantasy land.

who writes the letter headlines? this one seems to get repeated ad nauseum. why is Israel our ally? Why do we give them $3,000,000,000 annually? They have enough nukes to deter a declared war.

omnomnom-Could it be that

omnomnom-Could it be that Israel is a stable middle eastern country that is a Democracy? I know, let’s have Saudi Arabia as an ally, they can then send their kids to their little Islamic schools and teach them to be martyrs for Islam like the majority of the 9-11 bombers or produce more Ben Ladens. So name one country should ally with in the middle east!

GOP Plans to Sink the

GOP Plans to Sink the Economy

“Every month brings improved job news—and bleaker prospects for the Republicans in November. Which is why they’re contemplating economic sabotage as their only hope.”

"Every out-party does a little discreet cheering for the economy to be weak. But the GOP has more invested in economic failure than any out-party I can remember in my lifetime."

Always enjoy another episode

Always enjoy another episode of 'the Marxist in chief' that regurgitates the AM radio story line. These snippets always remind me of a preacher at the podium lambasting his congregation on all the evils out there waiting to 'get you'.

Bob Waters reminded us of

Bob Waters reminded us of something very important when he said:

The payroll tax cut is a bald-faced defunding of Social Security.

By cutting payments going into the Social Security Trust Fund, the government is obviously shrinking the fund because current payments are flowing out of the fund. A few years down the road and a future administration will say, "The fund is broke. We must change the system to give monthly payments only to those who really need it."

Another consequence of the payroll tax cut is that future retirees will be eligible for lower Social Security payouts because they are based on what you pay in.

These payroll tax cuts are a bad deal for current workers and future retirees.

What I find ironic is the

What I find ironic is the president acts like he has no culpability or responsibility for gas prices-an news outlets are saying as much too. Yet when Bush was president Obama and all the news media castrated the man because it was all his fault. Obama blamed Bush then supported an Alaska pipeline to bring energy to America, make us less dependent, and greener. Now its not my fault and no Keystone-what a hypocrite and a liar. It is shameful. I haven't seen any sign of intelligent life in the Whitehouse since Clinton left. Sad, but I guess a bunch of morons deserve a moron. Obama may complain about the gas prices but he loves it because of ideology of green. American's will become less dependent on oil and gas by making the product too expensive. His Energy man has said as much.

I think GW Bush has been the

I think GW Bush has been the most demonized president in my lifetime. People still want to hang him for war crimes, etc. Congress subpoenaed over 100 people investigating him for impeachment or whatever they could hang on em-still no smokin gun. Nixon was despised but not hated nor demonized. Clinton was sleazy but people still love him. People thought Carter was impotent as president. Johnson was thought a crook. But hands down Bush gets the prize.

Yes, President Bush may win

Yes, President Bush may win the prize, so far, but only for the purposes of convenience to bolster an unknown chameleon. However, left in office, in due time, there will be NO Doubt anywhere, anyhow, by anyone, who will have been the absolute worst president in American history. By then, unfortunately, the damages will not be undone.

As a very wise person said

As a very wise person said before the election in 2008, "if obama serves 4 years, it will take 20 years to undo the damage he will have done. If he serves a second term, this country will never recover." By that time, his faithful supporters and I don't t mean his rich cronies, will be suffering and admitting we were right all along.

I don’t think the posters

I don’t think the posters here are giving readers the straight dope:

If Obama wins a second term Iran will strike the US with nuclear weapons using their advanced delivery system: FedEx.

All guns will be confiscated using SWAT teams.

Wall Street will fall, an asteroid will strike, the dead will rise seeking human flesh.

There will be a machete welding Mau Mau uprising.

All first born male children will turn gay.

The Bible will be banned.

The Koran will be mandatory reading.

Vital statistics data will be modified to show every American was born in Kenya.

And Aliens will land on the Mall seeking to enslave all white people and Obama will turn them over.
