It's not the mess you think

  • Follow Letters

Regarding the “Still a super mess” editorial March 8: You seem to be missing the point. Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich do nothing but add to the viability of the Republican debate. Ron Paul is the icing on that cake.

These are actually wonderful times we’ve been privileged to endure. Each of these remaining candidates has served to enlarge the Republican message, rather than depreciating that message. The convention platform – if properly constructed in the light of the different angles each of these candidates will bring to that event – should truly engage our most salient points against the Obama jumble of moral equivocation and political pander.

You mention Columbia County as if this should be some sort of Republican bastion, yet for some reason 75 percent of these folks couldn’t make it to the ballot box Tuesday. Even a turnout as pathetic as the 2008 primary (about 40 percent) would’ve sufficed to put Gingrich over the 50 percent mark (the number you used to indicate Romney had been “crushed”). The problem is lack of interest.

In November, and starting somewhat before then, the Democrats will attempt to pull the same stunt they used in ’08 – a massive registration of “new” voters and submission of absentee ballots filled out by Obama organization workers to inflate their supposed electoral presence, perhaps even in Columbia County.

However, in this state the Democrats’ only effect will be in some marginal legislative districts (U.S. Rep. John Barrow?). For pity’s sake, John McCain carried Georgia, and remember the slam in the runoff between U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Jim Martin when none of the Obama patrons followed up? Between now and, say, September, it will be mandatory that people (even in safe Columbia County) who are serious about stopping the Obama train wreck mobilize behind the Republican nominee, regardless of his past.

These present travails will be a distant memory, if not forgotten, by then, and we’ll have two months yet to build momentum to stifle any Obama tricks.

IO'll have to agree with the title of this letter. It certainly is not the mess that the writer would like you to think it is. It's worse, much worse.

But not to worry. The re-election of our President Barrack Hussien Obama will stop the lunatics posing as serious contenders for the worlds most powerful elected office. This will be accomplished by sensible, decent American Patriots who can tell what a real President of all the people, white, black, brown, red or yellow, male or female, rich and poor(not much middle class left these days) truly looks like and stands for.

God Bless America and four more years!

RA, you are very fortunate to not have been affected by obam's policies. Have you ever been an entrepreneur or have you always been an employee? We know that you have been an employee for part of your working career by the name you have chosen for yourself. Are you double or triple dipping?

No doubt the obamas are living higher on the hog than ever before and also his cronies.

'The Wall Street Journal/NBC

'The Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, which last summer found women almost evenly divided on which party should control Congress, now shows that women favor Democrats, 51 percent to 36 percent.' NYT. Yea, keep on putting those women in their place guys, may work at the state level, but nationally your completely out of touch. Good luck in Nov., like Santorum says, it is going to take a miracle.

KSL. Who's the "we" you

KSL. Who's the "we" you mention in your post? Is there a conspiracy of sorts I should be aware of? :)

You seem to insinuate that by holding down an honest job of some sort since I was 12 years old that I don't deserve the benefits that I am now reaping. Is that so? Is there some entitlement envy being displayed here? I spent 20 years serving America first and then 25 years as a comissioned salesman, never a "salaried" employee. My earnings where based soley on work ethic and a reputation for fair and honest dealings. Any person who can read can see that America under President Obama(not obam's as you so disrespectfully refer to the President)is turning around and heading in the right direction. Not fast enough for me, but in the right direction.

I see America as heading in the direction of other modern states where citizens who have worked hard and contributed for all of their lives can rely on the promises made to them by other citizens who served before them. I have been described by friends as a Liberal Truman Democrat. I take great pride in that. My best expectation is that when our President becomes a second term president he can take the gloves off and take corporate America to task for the wrongs done all of us since the assencion of Ronald Regan and "trickle down" Reganomics.

I have much more I would like to say but Honeybee wouldn't let me retire until I could find a way to pay for my golf and earn my own Grandpa bucks so I'm off to my retirement job at the golf course. I'll be sure to set the holes extra tough this morning for the Sunday Heathens(me included) who aren't in an organized tax free "bidness" church.

Retired, high fat and protein

Retired, high fat and protein Conservoylent Green is distributed based on income. As with other welfare programs, we must keep a watchful eye out for fraud; because of its high fat content Conservoylent Green is particularly tasty and expected to bring high prices in the black market. Citizens are encouraged to report suspected Conservoylent Green fraud to the government agency charged with this program, FEMA.

The Republicans cannot get

The Republicans cannot get "into a woman's uterus". However, the Democrats can, have, and will, get into your and my pocket.

No Republican has advocated doing anything to women. Yes, some personal beliefs have been stated in order to placate the ultra-right religious voters but no Republican is advocating doing anything anti-women. It is unfortunate that, in our two party system, both parties have to pander to their "wingnuts" in order to get elected. And there is a legitimate constitutional discussion about forcing the Catholic run entities to pay for birth control. Everything else are issues that have already decided by the courts. And any remaining issues will be settled in the courts, not by politicians. No matter what they say.

I personally am more concerned with keeping the Democrats out of my wallet. If you like Obamacare, $4 gas, double digit grocery inflation, and the collapse of the value of the dollar, then go ahead and vote for Obama. Open wide, say AAAAGGGHH, and prepare to have a lot more socialist "redistributing" crap and "green energy" boondoggles shoved down your throats.

The risk that any Republican can actually impact "a woman's uterus" is slim to none. The risk that Democrats can double the deficit (again), drive gas to $8 a gallon, double your electric bill, give us Canada and England style 6 month waits for a doctors appointment, and Greek style financial collapse riots, is very very real. Keep in mind that the Chinese are cutting back on buying our bonds, and the rating agencies are still threatening to downgrade our bonds (again) because we have totally failed to cut spending. If you don't think that we are headed for a Greek style collapse when nobody will loan us any more money then you need to forget about the uteri and check to see if your head is up another part of your anatomy. The red herring threat of Republicans hurting women is a totally bogus left wing media issue. The financial threat of Obama and the Democrats is in your face real. Take a look at your total and the gas pump, grocery store, and your health insurance premiums if you happen to be one of the 80% who pay for you health insurance and were perfectly happy with it. Those prices are not going up because of the recession and they are not going up because of the baby step "recovery". They are going up because of Obama and the Democrats policies, their 16 $trillion deficit, refusal to slow spending, and the FED's printing of worthless dollars as "stimulus". And just remember, the crushing debt of Obamacare and the tax increases are yet to come.....conveniently scheduled by Obama and the Democrats for AFTER the election.

If you are absolutely convinced that all Republicans are determined to "get in a woman's uterus", then go ahead and vote for Obama. I hope you and your uterus are happy at the grocery store and gas pump. And, oh by the way, when you are paying for those things and happen to think about your increased banking fees, thank Obama and the Democrats.

No government "protection" is free of cost to the protectee. I personally did not need "protection" from the banks because I can read and I understand what I am doing. Go figure. Now I need a new bank because the government has caused what used to be free to cost the poor and middle class more fees. Didn't hurt the banks. They will still get their money. Didn't hurt the rich. They have plenty to maintain the higher minimum balances that will keep them from paying fees. So the government has implemented extortion. Isn't that what they call paying for "protection" when there wasn't any threat. What you are paying for when they take out those "fees" is legislating against people being stupid. Guess what? Won't work. They will always be stupid people and there will always be poor people. Especially if we reelect Obama. But......all uteri will be safe from nonexistent threats.

Dichotomy...I agree with you

Dichotomy...I agree with you more than not BUT sorry....the Reps will lose a lot of women votes...even the candidates wives are seeing this..

Introducing her husband on Super Tuesday night, Ann Romney said women this election season are interested in jobs, the economy and the debt.

Translation: So could we shut up already about contraception?
Republicans might wish nothing more than to stuff birth control pills back into the bottle, but Democrats aren’t about to let them. The narrative already has a title: “The Republican War on Women.” Cue theme from “Psycho.”

One can hardly blame Democrats for taking advantage of a perfect storm of stupefying proportions. The only thing Republicans failed to do was put a bow on this mess. Consider the headline-grabbing events that came together almost at once:

Virginia’s pre-abortion sonogram law that could have included a transvaginal probe; the religious liberty versus contraception mandate prompted by health care reform; Rush Limbaugh’s commentary about a female law student in which he called her a slut, a prostitute and, in a final flourish, suggested she provide him sex tapes so he could watch her in the activities precipitating the need for birth control.

Individually, these anecdotes would have been problematic, but combined they’ve had the effect on women voters of a Tyrannosaurus rex approaching a Gallimimus herd. (Picture the stampede scene in “Jurassic Park.”)

It won't drop because it is a GOLDMINE for the Dems..

Causes
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a pregnancy starts outside the womb (uterus). The most common site for an ectopic pregnancy is within one of the tubes through which the egg passes from the ovary to the uterus (fallopian tube). However, in rare cases, ectopic pregnancies can occur in the ovary, stomach area, or cervix.

An ectopic pregnancy is often caused by a condition that blocks or slows the movement of a fertilized egg through the fallopian tube to the uterus. This may be caused by a physical blockage in the tube by hormonal factors and by other factors, such as smoking.

Some women have carried a baby outside the uterus & in rare times the baby lives....so where does the probe go in those cases....you see why this is SOOO crazy....GEEZ...
Some think they have a right to make a decision for another woman....some THINK all bodies work the same..they don't & won't EVER--some STUPID decisions by OTHERS can acually KILL a mother.
