Many – if not most – Americans are ignorant of the Constitution. That is tragic since it is the law. If another law is written but differs with the Constitution, it should become void.

If the president issues an executive order doubling the pay of employees in the executive branch, it is an illegal order. The president may hire high-level employees without the consent of the Senate, but if the law requires consent, they are not employees and need not be paid, and any actions they take are void. If a person becomes president who is not a natural-born citizen, all actions he or she takes as president are void.

Many – if not most – Americans believe that any baby born in the United States is an American citizen. That is false. The 14th Amendment states: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.” A diplomat to the United Nations who is in New York with his wife has diplomatic immunity for himself and his wife. If she gives birth, then she – and now her child – would not be subject to the jurisdiction of New York or the United States.

The purpose of the 14th Amendment was to grant citizenship to slaves and their children. To take a phrase out of context and enforce it is illegal. Criminals should not euphemistically be called “undocumented aliens” – they are criminals. They also are not entitled to the constitutional rights of citizens.

Consider a federal bureaucracy – the Internal Revenue Service. The 16th Amendment gives Congress the “power to lay and collect taxes on incomes.” Only Congress may make the rules. Any of the 92,000 pages of IRS code that have not been passed by Congress are void.

Similar bureaucracies have been created for business regulation with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; for health-care regulation with Obamacare; and for banking regulation with the Dodd-Frank Act. The problems that these bureaucracies seek to regulate were caused by bad laws passed by Congress. The people who wrote the enforcement laws were also the “lawmakers” who wrote the original “bad laws” that were abused legally.

To continue as a nation with a constitutional rule of law, we the people need to re-institute our authority.

faithson-the point is simple if you do not follow all the laws set forth by the constitution then you you are lawless...like obumler...like corporate buyouts ...like hiring non-elected czars--like obama-care **the list can go on and on...but to obumler supporters the law of the land seems trival to the aspirations of their messiah..when laws are not enforced ..overlooked...ignored...you have a king and no law..but our constitutional law and bill of rights was to replace the king in america something the messiah finds hard to accept..after all in his eyes this is the first time that we care as a nation for with him the earth will heal and the sea will recede..

nofan; you have got to lighten up on the 'red tea' you been drinking. If all you ever listen to are those that 'feed' you what you WANT to hear, you will live a pretty narrow existence. Kinda like what those Baptist preachers of old used to say about the catholic's... only to find that they were 'human' and savable after all. Not saying that there aren't problems, just saying there is more than one way to skin a cat.

At this late date it really

At this late date it really doesn't matter if Obama is a natural born citizen or not. If it comes out that he wasn't and you believe that anything that he has done during his time in office will be undone you are living in a fantasy world. My advice to all of the birthers is to move on. Harping on this issue just makes you look crazy and easy to dismiss.
On the other points in the article I agree but we have let "precedent" outweigh original intent and there is no putting that toothpaste back in the tube.

bruno; hummm, so 'using toothpaste' is not a good thing ? You would prefer just keeping a tube around for what ?, to say you have one. I am of the bent that 'squeezing' out the paste is a best use. In fact if we continue to allow Scalia and Thomas to keep the paste in the tube, we will all suffer from a static form of justice that crystallizes into injustice, Citizens United being a prime example.

The usual test for a statement of fact is verifiability, that is whether it can be shown to correspond to experience', yea that's it Harley. I found that both referenced articles are describing what 'really occurred or is actually the case'. Having a scientific bent, BA PSY, I like to use 'fact' based information, Techfan has posted some good 'fact based' information, take it or leave it.

That's pretty funny, faithson. None of it is "fact." It's all hearsay and questionable (and questioned) evidence. None of it has any more (actually less) credibility than the link I posted.

The truth of the matter is that you believe what you've decided you want to believe, and that's okay.....but it ain't because you have any "facts" on your side. It's much more a matter of faith and agenda than it is "fact."

Too funny. People saying we need to adhere to our Constitution yet don't even know what's in it.

The Congressional consent requirement governing the action in Libya is not a Constitutional requirement, but a requirement of a legislative act by a majority-Democrat Congress.

And impeach a President for helping remove Qaddafi with a minimum of involvement? What, is the far Right furious that we didn't spend almost a trillion dollars and send 5,000 Anericans to die to do it? Sheer moonbat lunacy -- and don't think the country doesn't see it.

No problem with one's faith and agenda so long as they keep it to themselves and don't expect the greater community have the same. That church/state separation thing.

Yea, I can see how I would disagree with a conservative... except for the free rider thing, think work is a must for ALL MEN. I give women and children a break on that one.
