Lay off Newt, regulations

  • Follow Letters

I would like to comment on two subjects.

First, let’s quit beating up on Newt Gingrich. He is the only Republican candidate who has a proven conservative track record in Congress; he has studied and lectured on history and politics; his private life is in order; and he can be trusted to strive to accomplish what he says he will.

Also, the present political party in power is endeavoring more and more to create class warfare.

They – President Obama, his Cabinet and Congress – continually put down the so-called rich, even though most of them are the ones who produce jobs, products and services. This party constantly promotes taking from the producers and giving to the nonproductive.

Instead of punishing corporations for sending jobs overseas, they should reward the ones that stay in the United States by reducing the tax burden, which eventually the consumer pays for, and reducing the burdensome regulations imposed on every producing person or entity. This will encourage businesses to stay here.

The smallest businesses have such a burden of regulations and taxes that it is very hard to produce a profit and stay in business.

There are so many government entities – federal, state and local – making regulations that no individual could possibly adhere to them all. Many regulations contradict one another.

It is a complicated learning curve for new politicians entering public service. Hopefully they will not be tainted by the old cronies.

Newt Gingrich's economic

Newt Gingrich's economic plan: Make inner city kids go to work, and make sure that Mitt Romney pays no taxes. The middle class can fight over the crumbs. Contrast that with President Obama's vision: Invest in American jobs. Strengthen our middle class. Pursue policies that work for everyone, not just the very top.

Sorry, but I don't trust Newt Gingrich. He merely pretends to be conservative. I prefer Ron Paul. He is a true conservative, knowledgeable of the economy, and his track record in Congress speaks for itself. His private life is in order, and he can be trusted govern as promised.

He's put out a good video on Newt's serial hypocrisy.

'he can be trusted', because

'he can be trusted', because YOU say so... there's nothing I can see in his behavior and demeanor that supports your belief, but hey, there are a whole lot of people out there right now who are being bamboozelled, on both sides...

THRILLA, President Obama's vision? The only vision he's shown of America is that it's "arrogant," and that he needs to apologize to the world for it, including bowing to foreign Arab kings. No thanks, the voters have finally waked up, and there will be more "change" in November!

Newt has gone after Romney

Newt has gone after Romney for being successful in the business sector, trying to make Mitt look like a bad guy for his venture capitalism.

And he wants to grow government by building a moon base- good luck calculating that cost.

Also- most of your letter sounded like Obama's State of the Union speech....

And what business are you in?

And what business are you in? My small business has been impacted by corporate greed far more than government interference. In fact, my only complaint about government is Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp wasting my sales tax remittances on birther hearings.

We can trust Obama. We can trust him to do exactly what he said he would do. Fundamentally change this country, change it into the socialist country that his father and mother dream about.

Charles; from a lot of the

Charles; from a lot of the comments I see on here from the left, some of them would be perfectly happy with socialism. They hate free enterprise and personal success, and they want the nanny government to take from the successful to give to the rest in order to take care of their every need.

ITSANOTHERDAY, you know why those on the left hate personal success and free enterprise? Because, it reminds them of the sad fact that there is no free lunch, and that SOMEBODY has to pay. Efficient, well run government healthcare? As big an oxymoron as jumbo shrimp, and honest politician.
