Choose James as new chief

  • Follow Letters

I would like to ask Augusta’s commissioners to keep interim Fire Chief Chris James as the permanent fire chief.

I have known Chris for years, and his dedication to this community is unparalleled. Chief James has been with the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department for almost 25 years, and his qualifications exceed the requirements for the job as fire chief. He has a master’s degree in business administration and years of on-the-job training. Chief James loves this community and is committed to serve it.

Chris is active in both Leadership Augusta and the Rotary Club of Augusta. He is loyal, trustworthy, honest and the best possible choice for Augusta’s new fire chief.
