Keep Christ in Christmas

  • Follow Letters

The fact that there are 12 days of Christmas confirms the reason for the season. It is all about Jesus’ birth at Bethlehem as a baby to Mary and to our whole waiting world to have a Savior whose coming gives us freedom from our sins and hope for eternal life in heaven.

We all ought to have a celebration for 12 days for Jesus’ blessed incarnation to be like us in all things human so that we might be able to experience his divinity at his Nativity.

Thanks for keeping Christ in Christmas. Blessed be your 12 days of faithful celebrating His coming to us to bring us all we need and more.

The Rev. Michael Lubinsky

Augusta

(The writer is parochial vicar at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Augusta.)

Thank you Father Lubinsky.

Thank you Father Lubinsky. Once we see through the tinsel, colored lights, obnoxious music and the advertisements, "The Gift" is before us; the Gift of hope and true light.

Merry Christmas
