Follow Letters

I have been suggesting to my friends for several years now that we bring our troops home. I was met with a resounding, "There will be no jobs. The economy will be worse if we do."

I know war is an economy booster, and ending one ends jobs, but I say we bring our men and women home and put them to work securing our airports and borders. It is honorable work, and who is better trained to be on the alert for "real" terrorists?

We can rid our airports of the incompetents who work there now, and America won't be afraid to fly anymore; plus, we may be treated with more respect when we travel. This may even boost the airline economy.

I would feel a lot better if our returning soldiers had these jobs.

I like it! Not only would we

I like it! Not only would we be treated with more respect, our security would actually be handled by people who have some experience. They would know the importance of using some common sense to do the job. Unlike what the baby strip searching, grandma diaper checking TSA does currently..

Now that we have been alerted to the possible threat of surgically implanted body bombs, I hate to think of how the TSA will be treating folks with heart pacemakers and Parkinson's deep brain stimulators implanted in the chests.
