Clinton doesn't need Obama translators

  • Follow Letters

I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall in former President Clinton's office when he saw one of President Obama's White House spokesmen explain recently what Bill Clinton really meant when he commented on health-care costs.

It seems as though Obama's staff is so accustomed to trying to explain what Obama is saying, they forgot they work for Obama and not Bill Clinton.

As most folks know, Clinton has a tendency for the use of profanity now and then. I would imagine he was beside himself when someone who doesn't even work for him attempted to wordsmith his statement.

It would seem Obama's staff would have to work 24 hours a day explaining what Obama meant, and they surely would not have time to worry what Clinton meant to say. It really should not be a question. Clinton never had to have a staff dedicated to explain what he had said.

Like him or not, Clinton was very well-spoken and never had to restate a statement.
