Obama's Israel stance shameful

  • Follow Letters

I want to offer congratulations to Jimmy Carter. He has become the second-worst president in U.S. history. Even Millard Fillmore was better.

What President Obama has done to our relations with Israel is unbelievable. How he could demand that the borders between Israel and Palestinian territory revert back to 1967 is beyond comprehension.

If that were to occur, Israel would be easy to divide into two indefensible portions by the Palestinians.

The Palestinian Authority, Hamas and other radical groups have one common goal: the elimination of all Jews and the destruction of the American way of life.

Every time Israel has made concessions to promote peace in the area, they have been stabbed in the back by the Palestinians. Now Israel has been stabbed in the back by our inept president.

To paraphrase first lady Michelle Obama: I have never been less proud to be an American than right now, regarding this issue.

President Obama needs to go back to what he knows best -- community organizing -- and stay out of foreign relations, and let someone handle them who has a clue.

Please, Mr. Obama, continue to have your parties and your vacations, and play golf -- and leave the important stuff to real professionals.

Mike, This letter is

Mike, This letter is shameful. What the President was telling Israel is that they must take steps to resolve this long standing issue before peace can come to the region. The choices are simple, continue along the same path, or take positive steps to end the blood shed and possibly live in peace. And by the way, the US and Israel relationship has never been better. Its like giving tough love to someone when they need it most.

Mr Booth needs to get his

Mr Booth needs to get his facts straight. President Obama re-stated U.S. policy that has been in effect for 40 years. The U.S. official policy has always opposed expansion of Israel's borders. Always. U.S. policy has always opposed Hamas and the establishment of a Palestinian state. Always. Mr Obama reiterated that U.S. policy, made clear that the U.S. would continue to oppose establishing a Palestinian state. The idea that the U.S. should suddenly change its policy is just wrong-headed and I'm glad he did not.

The US and Israel
Unpublished

The US and Israel relationship has never been better? Gee, wonder what this country would say if PM Netanyahu told us the USA should go back to pre-1492 borders? This was a slap in the face to Israel, the only real friend we have in the middle east. Thanks Barry, nice to see how you treat your friends.

Israel hasn't done anything
Unpublished

Israel hasn't done anything substantial in ending this conflict. As long as THEY get what they want. The Palestinians have just as much right to exist as Israel. Perhaps if Israel were to agree to at least part of the compromise it could lead to the ouster of Hamas in the Palestinian territories. It's time for Israel to stand on it's own two feet and quit relying on the U.S. to bankroll their aquisitions.

It's a shame how our

It's a shame how our president has stabbed Israel in the back. Israel is our friend and the Middle East's only Democracy. While Palestinians were dancing in the streets on 9/11, the Israeli government expressed its sympathy for us and our losses.

Herman Cain was right to say that if he were president, he wouldn't offer the Palestinians anything in negotiations. The Palestinians have refused to recognize Israel's right to exist, and they're not really interested in peace.

Obama's statements were

Obama's statements were predictable and expected given his limited world view. The man has had few experiences that were not handed to him on a silver platter and imagines that all the world's problems are a manifestation of race. So of course, he pulls against Israel, and not the darker skinned Palestinians. Obama is truly an equal opportunity divider and even after the earth-shaking financial crisis in the U.S., he sees it as his moral duty to troop across the world stage from which he pits people against one another, just as, perhaps, his own identity crisis eats him up from the inside. This man is dangerous for America, and dangerous for anyone or any group Obama deems undeserving or illegitimate.

O'Bama continues to show us

O'Bama continues to show us his ineptness week after week after week. His Clark Grisworld "European Vacation" Trip was an utter disaster. Gaffe after gaffe.

Has obama damaged our relationship with an ally? Absolutely. Question is, which ones? It's not only Israel.

What is amazing to me is the timing of O'Bama's anti-Israel speech. He knew that Netanyahu would not be pleased. So, obama made his speech when he was in the air & on a plane to the USA - so that he could not publicly respond for almost an entire day.

This is our Archduke Ferninand moment. This plus the "Arab Spring" fake democracy/aka radical Muslim Brotherhood takeover in the Middle East.

The crap is hitting the fan over there. It will send tidal waves our way. Count on it.

It will be years before we recover from the Irishman/Kenyan/Hawaiian/Indonesian's dictatorship. He is not taking care of America. He's taking care of the enemy.
