Why are we keeping them in office?

  • Follow Letters

Of each dollar that our government spends, 41 cents is borrowed money -- some of which only pays interest on our debt. The "BRIC" nations -- Brazil, Russia, India and China -- want a new world reserve currency instead of the declining dollar.

"Energy independence" is a meaningless slogan while our government is denying production of our own oil and gas resources. This is a real conspiracy against low- and middle-income Americans because they have to spend a much higher percentage of their income for energy as opposed to our high-income brethren and overpaid politicians. Gas at $5 per gallon does not faze their lifestyle.

Democrats for the little guy? What a cruel joke. Remember, Congress wrote the tax laws with loopholes for the corporate big guys.

We are still going to be an oil-driven society for 20 years-plus. You can't convert 6 million vehicles on the road to natural gas and batteries in that period.

The Obama-Bernanke-Geithner economic team and the Environmental Protection Agency dictatorship are punishing the American people, and we are sitting still for it and keeping them in office?

Let's not keep shooting ourselves in the feet and inhaling all these socialist lies.

Siegfried, get a grip...

Siegfried, get a grip... corporate America has sold the people a bill of goods that says you can have it all baby... what ever you want ! No holes barred, go get it. Want a 10 mpg luxury gas sucking ride, go for it, you deserve to have what you WANT! The karma of our corporate materialist culture is just starting to pay its dividends... we are just seeing the opening scenes. unbridled self liberty will leave us all with no liberty in the end. its called suicide by consumption.

faithson-Who decides what is

faithson-Who decides what is the right thing-The global warming crowd and their pseudo-science with Al Gore leading the charge? Maybe Obama and his sipping a slippery garbage? Maybe you would like the whole Bush family telling you how to live? We have plentiful energy in coal , oil, natural gas but the government is blocking us, instead Obama would rather have a Brazilian oil company produce it and we will be their best customers to quote Obama. He also didn't tell you they are allowed to develope it off America's shores but Amrican companies can't get permits. Paying more in energy to produce "green" energy such as ethanol than you get out of it is stupid and the government subsudizes it no end but you don't hear that being brought up! The actual market price will determine what Americans can do interms of consumption, as will innovation, if Americans are allowed to innovate anymore or own their own money to consume!

Sig- move closer to work so

Sig- move closer to work so you can walk or ride your bike to work and you will truly be "independent" of big oil. By selling your auto/truck plus all that currency you save not buying gas should be put toward gold, silver, or copper, then you give BRIC the pink slip. Up for the challenge?

I recommend investing in the
Unpublished

I recommend investing in the BRIC countries and learning to appreciate their peoples and cultures. Doing so might be the best possible hedge against the things you fear most.

techfan. Under previous

techfan. Under previous administrations you could get your drilling permit approved in about 2 weeks. Now it takes over a year and many have had to file suit against the government (costing more) in order to make it happen.

FACT. This administration is anti-drilling, anti-business, anti-capitalism, and anti-America. Eventually the kool-aid drinkers will wake up and realize that this clown is not on their side.

If the alternatives are

If the alternatives are Republicans, I'll stick with the Democrats. They're not perfect but the GOP cares about one thing: redistributing wealth to the top. Unless you're in that 1%, you're voting against your own self-interest if you vote Republican.

OJP if you think the

OJP if you think the democrats are for the little guy you need to do a bit more research. They are no better, if not worse than republicans. They just want you to think otherwise.

They are throwing all our tax money at the giant corporations - GE, AIG, banks, insurance companies, GM.........Shall I continue?

What have they done for the small businesses? Nothing.
