Obama's birth certificate is still fishy

  • Follow Letters

President Obama recently released a copy of what is supposed to be his birth certificate, while stressing that he had released the "short form" back in 2008 and that this is the "long form." This really should smell like fraud to everyone and give more credibility to the "birthers" who claim that Obama was not born in the United States.

If you go to Hawaii's state government website and examine the form to request a certified copy of your birth record, you will find that there is no option for a "short form" or "long form" birth certificate. If there are two different forms, they would be for different reasons, such as listed online -- one for in-hospital deliveries, the other for home births and out of country births -- but both forms would not be used for the same birth.

Thus, when you order a certificate, you would get the only one available for you. Is there anyone else from inside this country with two birth certificates issued from the same state agency? I doubt it.

Succinctness is good, but

Succinctness is good, but your letter is a little short on qualification. We have no idea if your travels or other experience extend beyond what you took away from a visit to Hawaii state government web pages, and we can only wonder why you still burden yourself with this when you really should be taking better care of your emotional health.

Give it up, people. There are

Give it up, people.
There are many, many reasons to oppose Obama and vote him out of office in 2012.
This is NOT one of them.

No one likes to be duped, especially by those in power. Obama created the circumstances of doubt that still surrounds this issue. Counterattacking the doubters and ignoring the facts will never bring resolve to those of us who demand honesty in government.

If I was on a jury hearing

If I was on a jury hearing the "birther" case I would say the Obama evidence was shaky at best and not beyond a reasonable doubt.

Interesting point in the

Interesting point in the article. Yes, there should only be one birth certificate for BHB, the one for a U.S. citizen being born out of country. However, does anyone dispute that BHB's mother is a U.S. citizen? That alone qualifies BHB to be a U.S. citizen, no matter where in the world he was born. For example, we have already seen the U.S. citizenship declaration of another ex-presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain who ran against BHB. John McCain was born in Panama and has U.S. citizenship by his U.S. citizen parents, the same citizenship as BHB. This birther argument is null and void as I see it.

Denis, it's not unusual.

Denis, it's not unusual. They're just two different ways of certifying the birth. I have a computer generated certification of birth, similar to Obama's "short form," issued by the Florida Department of Health. I also have a certified copy of my original birth certificate, also issued by the Florida Department of Health, which is similar to Obama's "long form" certificate. Both documents have exactly the same legal significance, and are accepted by all federal agencies as proof of birth and citizenship. In fact, it was the computer generated version that I used to obtain my passport.

Wow, Denis, you've really got

Wow, Denis, you've really got me wondering this morning. I thought this issue was resolved, but your subtle reasoning has me changing my mind! Of course everyone knows now that Vice President "Joe Biden" was actually born Josef Bidenski in the USSR, son of Communist cell members who entered the U.S. illegally. And then there is Hassan Reza, aka "Harry Reid," and Nadia Palavi, now "Nancy Pelosi," born in Iran to Islamist radical parents. Nadia especially has has extensive facial reassignment surgery to make her look Italian-American, but she's not fooling anyone. So actually none of our so-called "leaders" are really American born and all hold their offices illegally. It's one big CONSPIRACY! Denis, I suggest you get on this right away and get back to us when you find out anything more.

I can create all the computer

I can create all the computer generated birth certificates you need. This is ridiculous. I used my original, complete with my newborn foot print and Dr. Curly Watson's signature, on a Caribbean cruise and was told by Customs officials that it was not valid without a stamped certification.

You see Mr. Thomas, the

You see Mr. Thomas, the documents were shown long ago. You can't run for President in this country without proving to the proper officials that you are a US citizen, including where you were born. If Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly and Limbaugh, for two years, with all of their resources and money couldn't prove otherwise...? You see where I'm going with this.

Jesus Christ himself could present the birth certificate to these people and they still wouldn't believe it. Why? Because they cannot, and will not believe that our country has changed enough over the course of their lifetimes to where a semi-liberal black man with a foreign sounding name could be in charge.

There is this interesting and consistent percentage of Republican voters: approx 25% that: BELIEVE anything and everything that espouses their delusional 'distrust' of all things they don't agree with, like agreeing with facts is an act of heresy. ps: the same can be said of the Democratic voters, it just isn't as high.

Mr. Thomas, either you have been duped and owe it to yourself to go through this site, or you are intentionality spreading information you know is incorrect.

Scanned documents aren't evidence of anything even if they are legitimate. The entire reason there is a professional field known as forensic document examination is that a great deal can be told from examination of the original document itself. Much, much less can be told by looking at a photocopy of a document and very little, if anything at all, can be told from looking at a digital image that purports to be an image of an original document. Too much opportunity for adulteration, no opportunity to examine the paper, the ink, any impressions made on the paper, etc. These online arguments discussing images are like people studying animals by examining imitation scat.

"The only people who don't want to disclose the truth are people with something to hide." - Barack Hussein Obama - August 21, 2010

The fact that such an obvious forgery as the Obama birth certificate is not gaining any traction from Republican leadership is a puzzlement.

Do you suppose the Republicans are saving this damaging revelation for later on? Why use it now? Wouldn’t it have a more powerful effect nearer election time?

Just because you keep saying

Just because you keep saying an absurd falsity doesn't make it true. There is absolutely no debate anymore about the legitimacy of the birth certificate. Stop this. Stop saying this, stop writing this, stop printing this. I love a good conspiracy theory, but this just isn't one of them.

The issue is not that the

The issue is not that the newest birth certificate is a fraud. The issue is our president may be lying, just like he's taking credit for "GETTING" OBL and that IS an issue. The Seal that shot OBL was allowed to shoot him not trained to shoot him by Obama. The way they're taking credit for it "Obama got on a Blackhawk and shot OBL" himself. That is what is bugging U.S. not what country he was born in only the fact that he is a liar...

"“The morons forget to flatten the layers! You should see what this looks like in Photoshop or any other Adobe program that reads PDF’s and works with layers.”

When you distribute a .PDF file, which can be a very large document, you have option of compressing it for optimization, which reduces the size of the file. This is a thing you can do. And that's what they did. That separates the black writing from the colored background, which makes it easier to store as a .PDF file. The other "anomalies", "inaccuracies", and "mistakes" are compression artifacts, like in a low-quality photograph blown up to a large size.

I dunno man... I'm starting to question whether or not Obama was even born at all. Is he alive? How do we know? Because "they" tell us? HA!

I'm just glad there are people out there dividing our country over whether or not our President was born a U.S. citizen or not. It would be horrible if we dropped this discussion in favor of unity amongst our two parties or, heaven forbid, actually working towards a better America.

Fight the good fight birthers! If not for you America could actually make some progress and we all know that no one likes to speak the "p" word in America anymore. Thanks for all that you do. :)
