Walton Way roadwork is a success

  • Follow Letters

I use Walton Way six to eight times each day. When the repaving started a couple months ago, I thought, "Why?" and "What an inconvenience!" Now that I drive it each day after completion, I realize how necessary it was and how much easier it makes navigating Walton Way.

The construction company was very in tune with the concerns of commuters. Working at night for most of the work was brilliant. We should take notes on that! Yes, it was a mess, but what it gave us is worth it.

I commend the mayor, city administrator and Augusta Commission for the contract negotiated. To all involved in its completion, I say "Well done!" Thanks from a frequent Walton Way wanderer!

I'm glad you are happy with the way the repaving went. It was not 'in tune' with traffic concerns from my perspective. The hospital area was completely gridlocked. Nor did the blocking of lanes with no warnings before major intersections, only to reopen the lanes an the other side of the intersection help matters. The mayor, the administrator, and the council will not be getting a hearty thank you and well done from me though. I am just glad it is over.
