Are Republicans out to destroy us?

  • Follow Letters

The Republican Party is pushing its propaganda agenda, smear tactics and lies to a constituency composed of maybe some of the most uninformed people on our planet. The know-nothings get pointed in the direction of the voting booth by the tossing of hate and divisive issues that they snap at like a snake.

It is hard to describe how low a level the Republican propaganda has taken us and, even more shocking, how many people are falling for it. It seems as if some of these people are in a trance, and the Republicans are on a mission to destroy our great country.

Some people, barely solvent themselves, are vowing to vote the Democrats out of office in November and replace them with new Republicans. I would be afraid to have these new candidates managing my doghouse.

The Republican Party is being intercepted by radical groups and revisionists. Republicans often campaign on the three G's (God, guns and gays) and WAT (welfare, abortion and taxes), and the people issues will go unnoticed. And the neoconservatives proposed 20 years ago to keep taxes low and privatize Social Security to do away with all entitlement programs.

A friend called recently and asked if I had seen the new Republican agenda "A Pledge to America." I said no. He kept saying, "I know you have seen it." Finally I said, " Do you call that new?" It's the same old thing -- cut taxes, less regulations and repeal the new health-care bill. Cutting taxes and regulations led us to the financial crisis from which we are trying to recover.

Vote Nov. 2 to keep the Democrats in control of Congress and Roy Barnes for the governor of our progressive state. By doing so, we can preserve our country's integrity, legacy and greatness.

Tracy E. Williams Jr.

Tracy you support a party

Tracy you support a party that thinks killing an uborn baby is okay and sin should be celebrated. Why would anyone trust someone who believes that? If you don't care if I live or die before I was born why would you care about me now. Why would a good person be associated with a party like that. Republicans sure aren't perfect but they at least don't call evil good and when they mess up they are shown the door. The math for the financial future of this country doesn't work and it will take people with Godly wisdom to fix it plus we as people have to change because the politicans are a reflection of the people.

"the neoconservatives

"the neoconservatives proposed 20 years ago to keep taxes low and privatize Social Security to do away with all entitlement programs." - Yep and like most everything the Republicans and Democrats propose, it is another utter failure because both parties suck and have failed America for a century. Why not mention the "propaganda agenda, smear tactics and lies" about foreign money financing Republicans via the Chamber of Commerce?

Ignorance is bliss and doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the defintion of insanity. Vote Libertarian if you want any semblance of change and sanity.

soldout, reminds me of one of

soldout, reminds me of one of my favorite Reagan quotes, "I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born..." also reminded of how Illinois state senator Obama favored a law to prevent late term abortion surviving infants from receiving medical care.

anyhow. Tracy sounds like the typical liberal elitist.

witness, "...to a constituency composed of maybe some of the most uninformed people on our planet."

or

"...The know-nothings get pointed in the direction of the voting booth by the tossing of hate and divisive issues that they snap at like a snake."

Who are these people, Tracy? You must believe they are the majority of Americans, for you fear they will elect Republicans. So, I guess it's your assertion that you "elite" few need to tell the rest of America what's best for it? some "integrity, legacy and greatness" that would be.

See, elitist liberals like Tracy and his messiah, Obama, know what is best for the "little" people. Pelosi and Reid have been at it for almost 4 years and Obama for 2. They have done such a wonderful job that we are too stupid to see all their wonderful accomplishments.

it is the typical frustrated liberal who can write such a letter and provide no facts, figures nor names. this has to be a generic letter from some liberal blog. Thanks to the AC for publishing it to remind us how desperate the left is.

one more thing Tracy. If social security is such a great thing, why is it mandatory? why can't I opt out? Mother hen govt has got to stop.

gijoe7898: Mr Williams is a

gijoe7898: Mr Williams is a liberal for sure, elitist? Not even close. I don't think he's even "enlightened".
Mr Williams accuses the Republicans of trying to destroy our country. I got sobering news for this prolific liberal letter writer, it's the Republicans in this country who fight to the death to keep us safe, while yellow bellied anti-war liberals cut and run from any war far or near.

If obuma had his way he'd dismantle and destroy our nuclear stockpile and he's perfectly willing to shred our proud military commanders to pieces at the first sign of disagreement. He's the sorriest commander in chief this country ever had.

Now, Mr Williams want us to vote for Roy Barnes governor because he stands for integrity, legacy and greatness. What an absolute bunch of hooey! Roy Barnes was run out of office years ago after one term, not because he had any of those attributes Mr Williams likes to flout. There was a good reason he was booted and...it happened at a time when Georgia was decidely more democratic. Heck, not even the democrats wanted the man back in office. Is there anything different now? OH, yeah I forgot. He's a bizillion times richer since he got so good at filing law suits, and probably judge shopping for ones he appointed while governor.

If there is any justice in this world the voters will at least give the country back it's checks and balance mechanism by allowing Republicans to control one house of government. We need that to keep Obuma honest, cause that's not something he learned how to do while learning his trade in Chicago, arguably the most corrupt city on the planet.

Now if Republicans mess that one up, they just might be as "unenlightened" as Mr Williams

This letter represents WHY

This letter represents WHY people are voting Reichpublican again. The lunatics have control of both wings of the building.

Tracy no more speaks for average voters than Glen Beck does. They both are the same problem on different ends of the political debate.

Folks like me are caught in the middle where the ever important "indies" are but neither party has been speaking to us. It is all far left and right rhetoric meant to motivate a sleeping electorate that is firmly in their own camp.

I find it funny that Tracy acts like the Reichpublicans are the guilty party here when it was the Dimocrats that had veto proof majorities in both houses and a far left leaning White House whose agenda has fired up the far right while cooling the far left because it didn't "go far enough."

I would think that Obama and the Dims would be out on the campaign trail bragging on their Healthcare Bill and all the other "accomplishments" they have gotten done, but instead they are running on fear and deception. Ironic huh?

"Vote for me because Reichpublicans are worse!"

Both parties are WAY off track and the American People are tired of it.

No matter what happens at the ballot box in a few weeks you can bet that it won't be like the Tracy Williams' of the world have called it from their smug view of the voters.

VOTE ALL INCUMBENTS OUT!!!

Brad

Yes, if only the great unwashed American public knew the truth about our Dem programs, the ignorant masses would surely vote for their enlightened masters! If Dems keep losing, it MUST be because of Rep dirty tricks and sly interference with our communications to the masses. I mean, that’s the only possible explanation, isn’t it?

I'm not sure I know who "us" is, but if I understand you right Tracey,
you are concerned that the Republicans will cut government spending which
will lower your entitlements. I certainly think entitlements could use a good makeover. Take away from the dead-beats and only give to the needy. Yes...I like Republicans.

The last paragraph in this

The last paragraph in this letter identifies Tracy - Progressive - there's the problem. Why are the people uninformed this election but they weren't when Obama was elected? What Tracy and the Progressives fear is an awake, aware, informed, and enraged voting public...who will not forget come Nov. It is no longer about the D or the R, it's about Freedom. The Progressives have infected both parties and the cure lies in the hands of We The People. The first round of medicine will be issued Nov. 2.

I DON'T want my government to confiscate my money and give it to you.

This is just perfect for Mr.

This is just perfect for Mr. Williams and the liberals posting today.

"Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

--Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

--We don't like redistributive and progressive taxes so you can keep them.
--You are welcome to the liberal judges, Acorn, the unions and the ACLU.
--Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.
--We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.
--You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.
--We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.
--You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.
--We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.
--We'll keep the Bibles & Fox News and give you NBC and Hollywood.
--You can make nice with Iran, Venezuela, Cuba and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.
--You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.
--We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.
--You are welcome to Islam, Atheism, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley MacLaine.
--You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.
--We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.
--You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.
--We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
--We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."
--I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".
--We'll practice trickle down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.
--Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name, United States of America and our flag."

Would you please agree to this? And don't come running to us for help when you fail in 2 years. Citizenship will be difficult to get in this newly separated nation. Good luck climbing our heavily guarded wall.

The Republicans and Democrats

The Republicans and Democrats have shown us many times over that they are willing to bankrupt the country so they can win the next election.

While the country has record deficits, the R's promise tax cuts will somehow solve the problem by some unknown magic (that didn't work twenty years ago with Ronald Reagan).

While the country has record deficits, the D's give us wildly unaffordable benefits like health care for everybody. That's a nice thought but a false promise if the funds aren't there to pay for it.

My response to the letter writer is that both major parties are out to destroy us, and doing a very good job of it.

Nice little kool aid rant

Nice little kool aid rant Tracy. No facts, no reasons, but have another sip of kool aid. Here is a fact. After Obama and the Democrats little 2 year spending spree and Obamacare, every baby that the Democrats allow to live comes out of the womb owing the federal government $47,000 and that sum starts growing with the first breath it takes. Yes, all of our politicians, of both parties, have spent way too much. But over the past two years the Democrats have perfected the art of spending us broke for the ideology of socialism. Well socialism doesn't work. Never has, never will. It has failed everywhere in the world where it has been tried. If you ignore every other issue out there, the spending and socialism of the past two years is reason enough to put every Democrat out of office and elect anybody or anything to take their place. Only a running blind kool aid drinker will call a group of concerned taxpayers holding up a sign that says "Taxed Enough Already" and radical group. If you want to take a look at a radical group, take a look at Obama's 30 Czars. Every one of them is from a radical communist or eco-terrorist group.

chillen, that was a very good

chillen, that was a very good response my friend. It would indeed be a thing of profound beauty watching a totally liberal america try to subsist on it's on without the help of the conservatives. (that is, of course providing you and me are observing comfortably from our perch on the other side of that fence)

However, I think the most likely outcome of such a scenerio would be the birth of another third world country in a very short period of time. Somebody's got to work to feed those bumbos and we all know it won't be them. They'll be sitting around on the porch rocking in the chair waiting for the mailman to come by.

Robaroo, the oft repeated lie

Robaroo, the oft repeated lie concerning the Regan tax cuts is again repeated by you. From 1981 to 1988 the tax revenue more than doubled, but Congress tripled the spending. A visit to the CBO website will back up my assertion. Cutting taxes will result in more revenue due to job creation and allowing the free market system to work as it should.

The problem is spending. You cannot, cannot, cannot, spend more than you take in without going in the red. Oh, unless you're the government.

Tracy, keep writing those letters. They further solidify the position of the populace to remove liberals from office.

There are many well-informed

There are many well-informed conservatives. However, some conservatives--too many--think that Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya, that the health care reform law entails the government taking over the hospitals, and that Obama has enacted big tax increases. Since these beliefs are either false or overstated, there is some merit to the LTE's comments. At the same time, I think that progressives need to show that they have cooler heads (and I myself will endeavor to do the same henceforth).

Chillen! Great post!! Tracy, you said that cutting taxes and cutting regulations I presume led us to the mess we're in. I thought it was people FORCING lending institutions to loan money to people for houses, houses that they could not afford. One of these people, a community organizer by the name of Obama. You've probally heard of him, he is also the same guy that told his Justice Dept. chiefs not to indict any non traditional minority voting irregularities. Thats why the uniformed Black Panther menber with a club in his hand shouting "Kill Cracker Babies" at a voting site was not indicted. There have been other circumstances of this ilk . Obama is a Racist. Halder is a Racist.

Seabeau, no one "forced"

Seabeau, no one "forced" lenders to lend to people. It is possible to conduct subprime lending properly. The bankers can and should charge higher interest and points, require PMI, insist on a larger down payment, limit the payments to 25% of income, and verify employment in the case of subprime borrowers. No one ever forced banks to abandon sound banking principles. If the banks had followed these simple precautions, they would have been fine.
