I'm sure many local natives enjoyed going back in time via ol' No. 225 (The Augusta Chronicle anniversary special section, Aug. 29).
Being a retired ex-sports writer for a Yankee newspaper up north (Dayton, Ohio) many years past, this edition was one of great interest and enjoyment. Being a resident of Martinez for 10-plus years and a history buff, I was greatly impressed with every facet of 225 -- mainly pictures, stories and the newspaper's past equipment and employees.
Special notice was that young Bill Kirby has aged pretty well. A good writer and baseball fan, among other things.
This edition will continue in time to bring me hours of interest. Thanks to all who are responsible for No. 225.

I, too, love the Chronicle special editions and this one, 225 years, was very special.
Even when I disagree with the perspective of some of the Chronicle's articles or specials, the paper always takes the community into consideration.
Those who don't appreciate this wonderful asset don't understand the contribution the Chronicle makes to the greater C.S.R.A. .
I enjoyed it for the most part, 'cept for 80% advertising. Off to the recycle bin.
