Remember Gulf oil spill in November

  • Follow Letters

Gen. William T. Sherman marched to the sea in 36 days. Our soldiers went from Normandy beaches to liberating Paris in less than 80 days. Marines took islands in the Pacific in 30 to 40 days. These heroes were killed and hurt.

President Obama and the Democrats have wasted at least 80 days, and still no solution to the oil spill in the Gulf! Rep. John Barrow, Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi need to go to war on the Gulf.

Also, what will happen when gas goes to $4 to $5 a gallon? Who can drive to a $8-an-hour job then?

We need to remember this in November! Don't think that the spill doesn't affect Georgia and you!

Hasn't Dick Cheney been out of office for two years?
Why don't obamassiah worshipers seem to be able to understand this?
Is this an indication of the state of mind necessary to support the mad Marxist?

On this date in 2008, a gallon of gasoline approached $10 a gallon in Oslo, Norway, highest in the world, an international research company reported. Paris, Copenhagen and Rome also were reported over the $9 mark with London a few cents behind.

Yet they want to copy their socialism....it would be laughable if it wasn't so real.

Remember May 2001: Vice

Remember May 2001: Vice President Dick Cheney’s National Energy Policy Task Force concluded that “advanced, more energy efficient drilling and production methods: reduce emissions; practically eliminate spills from offshore platforms; and enhance worker safety, lower risk of blowouts, and provide better protection of groundwater resources.”
Remember July 14, 2008. On this date President Bush lifted the executive moratorium on offshore drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico and off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. This moratorium was put in place in 1990 by Pres. George H.W. Bush. Bush then called on Congress to lift its own annual ban on drilling, as John McCain embraced “drill, baby, drill.” So how's that working?

I'm sorry but what exactly

I'm sorry but what exactly does Obama have to do with this continuing oil spill opportunity?

Shouldn't the blame be more logically given to BP?
Come on people. Use your heads.
Let's learn from this accident and think twice in the future before we let a foreign company drill off OUR shores.

btw, when is the Exon Valdez oil spill going to be cleaned up?

You dumbobama supporters are

You dumbobama supporters are laughable to say the least. I do not read blame for the problem having anything to do with your prez. His ignorance of leadership and actions are the problem. Help was and still is available, waiting for his action. Like many other situations, he will hesitate until his associates from other countries inform him of the most underhanded and sneaky way to harm AMERICA, and put into place edicts that will benefit the anti-AMERICANS.

Obama is single-minded in his
Unpublished

Obama is single-minded in his goal, which is the complete destruction of our free market society. The more he so artfully uses and abuses crises, the real and the imagined crises, the more concerned each American should be about his czars, his intentions and our fate. He and the useful idiots in the clergy who aid and abet his march to complete socialism must be stopped.
First, we must prevent the amnesty he and they keep pushing for that would entrench the Democrat party for decades by creating many millions of gullible voters. Second, all Americans need to wake up this Nov and Nov of 2012 and vote the socialists out of office. Don’t be fooled by those who obfuscate the issue by advocating that we vote against all incumbents. That would only perpetuate the status quo which is what the unholy triumvirate of liberal politicians, mass media and liberal clergy desire.
The most pathetic are the liberal clergy who are either apostate or know not what they do. Since they are for the most part intelligent men, I unfortunately must believe they intend the horrible consequences of their actions and the abuse of their sacred trust and duty.
Even those who enthroned king, emperor, dictator, etc Obama, if they disregard his rhetoric but instead consider his ideology and his actions, will join in voting him and all socialists out of office.
Burgeoning unemployment and, yes, even anarchy are welcome to him and is czars. The more crises he creates and perpetuates, the easier his plan of destruction becomes. Consider their emerging efforts to stifle opinion and information. Pravda, anyone? Things might get so bad, that he can get away with the American version of a brown-shirted civilian "army" to keep order. Acorn, anyone? New Black Panthers as poll watchers? Wake up and heed the signs.
Socialism hasn’t worked anywhere it has been tried. German socialized medicine is financially kaput so why must we go down that same road unless our destruction is the goal? While destroying private business with increased taxes and the promise of more onerous taxes, he created slush funds (called Stimulus) to fund his base. He even wants more “Stimulus.” He is not dumb, just evil. Watch how he utilizes those monies in the run-up to the elections.
Wake up Americans – especially those who voted for him and those who either sit out elections and who vote for the third party candidate out of ignorance or spite.

It is apparently more comfortable for those who support socialism to ignore the issues and the lessons of history and to instead keep bad mouthing Bush and Cheney. On TARP and amnesty, I'll join in the criticism of Bush.
I understand the problem. Feeling is so much easier than thinking, but hopefully there will be enough thinking people in the elections ahead who will defeat the Obama effort to destroy America. Remember, when the American ship of state is scuttled, we all drown, even you Obama supporters. Get with it before it's too late.

Some of the presumed deep

Some of the presumed deep water drilling expurts (deliberate sp.) here seem to know exactly what the president should have done to stem the flow of oil that is still polluting the gulf waters. Obviously the oil "experts" that work for BP haven't a clue to the solution.

If ya'll wish to speculate on what Obama coulda, shoulda, hasn't done let me speculate on what your hero, George Bush II WOULD have done.

George would have simply sent Brownie to the gulf, patted him on the back, said "Well Done, Brownie!" and declared "Mission Accomplshed!" Something like he did for the crisis in New Orleans after Katrina---a GREAT SOLUTION TO ALL PROBLEMS.

The only thing Obama has done wrong is to fail to follow the lead set by his predecessor.

No one is blaming Obama for
Unpublished

No one is blaming Obama for the spill, but just for his total inaction - his refusal to accept the help available from other nations. To him a crisis is only bettered by an unnecessarily prolonged crisis. Well, I guess I am waiting in vain for you Obamaites to respond to issues of the present rather than rehashing the past. Sorta like your penchant for trying socialism one more time - gee, will it work this time? Ya think? Whoops, my bad. Uh, I mean do ya feel? In Obama style, just keep on raising those strawmen and knocking them over. Wow, what brilliance.

GGPap, he should have at

GGPap, he should have at least taken up the offers of help early on. How can you justify his not doing that??

You seem to be intelligent, just on opposite sides of thinking from me. How on earth do you justify his diddling and refusal to accept help. I can't imagine the outrage from the left if Bush had done the exact same thing, every step of the way, for these last 80 days, that Obama has done. Any Republican, for that matter, would have been crucified.

If you Obama supporters can not admit that it true, you are all being totally dishonest.

While the oil disaster spews and spews, our "leader" Barry and his family will be vacationing soon (again) in Maine. I've never seen a president take advantage of his postion like this one. Golf, vacations, parties. Live it up on the taxpayers dime funny man. You only have 2 1/2 years left. Thank God.

IMPOSSIBLE, I'm not blaming

IMPOSSIBLE, I'm not blaming Bush for Katrina either; only pointing out that his RESPONSE to Katrina was highly inadequate and as much "do nothingness" as the right presumes Obama is guilty of in our present mess in the gulf.
