Progressive presidents helped ruin us

  • Follow Letters

Please examine the three progressive presidents of the United States of America: Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Barack Obama.

During Wilson's term, the income tax, popular election of senators and prohibition amendments were passed. More than 100,000 American lives were lost in a world war. He tried to form a one-world confederation.

During FDR's terms, the New Deal was passed. Most of it was unconstitutional, and it was also a failure. The precedent from 1921 was ignored. Unemployment was above 18 percent, and the deficit increased more than 500 percent. More than 400,000 American lives were lost in a world war.

During Obama's term, taxpayers have become owners of banks, insurance companies and car companies. There are unelected czars running an ever-increasing part of our world. He has alienated Israel and the United Kingdom -- two of our best allies. He has nationalized medical care.

He has used "stimulus money" as political money. Progressive states that have been bankrupted by liberal policies will be bailed out as federal taxpayers pay for generous salaries and retirements for firefighters, police and teachers.

All banks will be punished for the misdeeds of a few banks. Congress has taken no blame and has protected Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Reserve -- the three largest villains.

When an inspector general uncovers improprieties, he is fired. When a military general disagrees publicly, he is fired. A failure to properly regulate deep-water drilling has allowed him to implement an anti-carbon moratorium on drilling -- again, punishing all for the few. His anti-business policies have made this the Great Recession.

The Constitution has been ignored. We no longer have the rule of law.

What has Obama done for the

What has Obama done for the good of this country? His policies seem to be without any substance and give no clear picture where he is headed. What about the DOJ dropping the case against the New Black Panther and voter intimidation, I suppose that law was only against whites. When is President Obama going to stand up and represent all Americans?

"federal taxpayers pay for generous salaries and retirements for firefighters, police and teachers." Teachers do ok, but they also have a degree. Firefighters and police have generous salaries? Chuck's obviouly lost it.

If a man takes a club and

If a man takes a club and beats you to the ground, do you say, "give it a chance, you may like it"? Some things, with the wisdom of life to back it up, are easy to decide without waiting to "give it a chance".

If a man uses a diamond encrusted ivory club to beat you with, it still won't be a favorite thing for most folk.

Really? Roosevelt took over

Really? Roosevelt took over the country during a deep depression and the nation recovered. Obama is in the middle of doing the same thing. What progressives do is to take over the conservatives' messes and clean them up. Good work, FDR and Obama! Thank you for saving our country. Also, don't forget that Truman and LBJ brought justice and liberty to millions of African-Americans, which is something that no 20th century Republican even tried to do. All that conservatives want to do is to return to some glorious past that never existed in actual real life.

An absolute classic of

An absolute classic of incoherence and over-the-top rhetoric. I'll just choose something towards the end of this mess: "a failure to properly REGULATE deep water drilling," his "anti-business policies." I thought most all "regulation" was "anti-business." Remember Sarah, "Drill, baby, drill"? I do agree the regulations in place were not properly monitored, but remember, big oil spends millions on lawyers to help them circumvent regulations in the first place.

FDR took over the country

FDR took over the country during a deep depression and used the EXACT same tactics obama is using. He drove the country into an equally deep depression in 1932. The tactics prevented any kind of recovery until WWII came along and the social programs were set aside. Eisenhower and JFK continued the relief with tax cuts and social program cuts which allowed the economy to grow. LBJ brought the recovery to a screeching halt with his GREAT SOCIETY programs and tax increases.

obama is doing the same thing as FDR and LBJ. Maybe we should refer to him as bho.

Face, ha, no telling how many of these "accomplishments" could be shot down, but let's start with number #62. A no bid contract was awarded on Jan. 4 to Checchi & Company Consulting, Inc., a Washington-based firm owned by economist and Democratic donor Vincent V. Checchi, will pay the firm $24,673,427 to provide "rule of law stabilization services" in Iraq.

Reagan and both Bushies were big spenders too! Clinton was the last President to have the USA in the black. Anybody with sense knows that cutting taxes and spending uncontrollably is the big cause of the mess that we are in today. The government did it and so did a lot of people who did not balance their checkbooks.

Obama = the Worst President

Obama = the Worst President in US History. He is driving this nation into bankruptcy and has divided our nation like no one has ever done before. He appoints justices with minimal regard for the Constitution and law. He has disdain for the private sector (other than to "use" it as a tax machine for his political agenda). For him and his thugs private industry is bad and government is good.

What a legacy.

Wake up America! While you still can.

Drill baby drill, when left

Drill baby drill, when left in context, refers to accessing the oil available on the surface of the earth or just below. It doesn't refer going more than a mile below the surface of the ocean and drilling in an area where emergency repairs are almost impossible to use due to a lack of available technology. Had the radical anti-capitalists lefties that inhabit the EPA not forced the drilling off shore, this ecological disaster would have never taken place.
