Lakers win basketball title -- thank God

  • Follow Letters

Now that the Los Angeles Lakers are the 2009-2010 NBA world champions, I don't have to cry a fistful of tears. I'm so proud of the Lakers. I will continue to applaud them even if my hands are tied.

I flew out to the City of Angels this year for seven days to watch the world champions play three home games in the luxurious Staples Center. It was thrilling and exciting for me being at the games because I experienced the true nature of the gist and glamour of Lakers basketball.

Last year when the Lakers won the NBA championship, I indicated in a letter to The Chronicle that God was a fan of the Lakers. Now, God didn't reveal this to me personally, but this is something that I truly believe. God's divine presence allowed the Lakers to win this year's world basketball championship.

"God's divine presence allowed the Lakers to win this year's world basketball championship."

Well, that's just, like, not fair, man.

Dear writer, were you also able to attend the post-game riots in LA? I'd hate for you to go to all that time and expense and miss out on the "total experience".

Total silliness. The pro

Total silliness. The pro basketball tournaments are all predetermined. This one was no different. I find it takes a lot of entertainment value out of the game.

Unpublished

I can't imagine what would make someone believe that God chooses sides in basketball games...and, then, for someone to publically announce those sentiments, well, takes my breath away.
