There is a golden oldie in the Baptist hymnal: The Church Has One Foundation . If one is enough for the Southern Baptist Convention, why does the Medical College of Georgia have two?
Even the Board of Regents is asking that question -- even challenging the very concept. But, wonder of wonders, they are backing the interlopers created as a compliant tool for a departed, miffed president, rather than the historic foundation of the Medical College of Georgia.
The Medical College of Georgia Foundation Inc. is a fiduciary giant with roots back to the era of Herman Talmadge; has a track record of ethical and rational support of its institutional protégé; and the loyal support of generations of alumni and friends. It knows its base, it knows it role and it has the capital to continue to effectively use its resources to create and maintain high academic and professional standards in the health sciences.
The miff is history; so is the miffed. So also should be the illegitimate offspring of that dalliance.
Two foundations are really one too many -- so says the Board of Regents, and so should we all! But let us go where the history is, the money is, the loyalty is, the experience is and the future is: the Medical College of Georgia Foundation Inc.!

Agreed. Rahn didn't like that the original Foundation dis-agreed with him on several things, and is why he created his own. Now that he is gone, the one 'he' created should be eliminated. Maybe the new Pres. will see that and all the rest that needs change and do it.
