Quit the dogpiling on President Obama

  • Follow Letters

OK, enough is enough! The Obama-bashers have been getting away with such a plethora of negativity, anger and downright lies about this administration, and they are spreading like wildfire. Campaign advertisements are reflective of that same negativity. I have to recount what I have heard.

I was watching the local news and a story was featured about a program providing jobs for teens in Georgia, and these jobs are funded with federal stimulus money.

This story was followed by another featuring the last day for a homebuyer's tax credit -- "another product of the Obama administration, which gave a $6- to $8,000 tax cut to home-buyers." After this news story, a campaign spot came on the air asking: "Isn't it time government did something for you?"

I found this to be quite ironic to be airing following two news stories that clearly demonstrated specific episodes of government working for the people.

Summer jobs for teens and a tax cut to stimulate the housing market can be classified as programs that the government sponsored to do something for the average citizen.

Quarterly gross domestic indicators were released April 30, and show an increase of 3.2 percent. However, on my way to work I listened to radio commentators stating that these numbers do not really mean the economy is growing. It is a false positive reading, and will only lead to further recessionary figures!

It is amazing to me that whatever President Obama does, he receives criticism. If he endorses an idea that Republicans formerly endorsed, it is rejected by Republicans once Obama shows his support. If Obama tries to pass federal regulations for the good of the U.S. citizens, it is met with cries of more "government interference" and further proof of socialism.

It is time to start listening to the real stories, and not just sound bites from Fox News.

Wow...what a deluded rant

Wow...what a deluded rant Nancy! Right out of the Reid/Pelosi playbook, and you must be getting your sound bites from cnn and msnbc, so your defense of uncle hussein is completely understandable. However, your numbers are incomplete, and btw, the economy is NOT growing, and when uncle does something right, we will give him credit for it. Now he is loading up the financial reform act, and right behind that will come cap & tax, and unless I miss my guess, the illegal amnesty legislation will come next. All designed to further expand the national debt, and lead us even further down the path towards what Greece is presently experiencing. Yes, we cry out for some relief from this march towards socialism. Yes, we criticize him for not keeping his promises. Yes, we call him on flip-flopping on almost every issue. Yes, we chastize him for his union ties, his comedy routines, instead of working on what he once listed as our top priority, jobs, but guess that slipped his mind. I guess you defended GW the same way, as he was maligned constantly for 8 full years right. Yeah..right. Take your tired rhetroic, lame defense, and deluded notions and start listening to REAL, truthful stories, instead of parroting the leftist mantra you hear from your favorite lamestream media outlets. The only thing missing from you diatribe was an insult towards Rush or Glenn...missed them somehow eh? Pathetic letter Nancy....really lame.

Nancy is obvioulsy a PhD in

Nancy is obvioulsy a PhD in Economics and has great faith in the Keynesian economics model with advanced socialistic techniques. Long-term, successful countries can not be sustained by non-productive government induced GDP increases via government supplied housing market stimulus, government created non-productive jobs, government dominated economic sectors such as healthcare, and government run companies.

The truly sad part is so many weak, ignorant, and irresponsible Americans think it is government's role to provide tax credits for houses, appliances, and cars and to provide inefficient and unnecessary employment.

Tax and spend baby! I hope Rosetta Stone has plenty of manufacturing capacity for their Mandarin teaching aides.

I always consider the source GG, so thanks for letting me know I was right on the mark. I find it amusing that she thinks we are dogpiling, is that even a word?, on uncle hussein. Wait until November, when the real "dogpiling" begins...lol.

Here's what I think about the $8000 tax credit for first time buyers. It was a huge help to those who were going to buy their first home anyway. What a gift! It may have moved a few renters into home ownership. But all and all, it was an inflated bubble with no real impact. Watch what happens in the housing market over the next months.

TheFed, I always agree with you.

Through I agree with the letter writer, according to the Urban dictionary, dogpile can mean a piling of people on on top of another person or can mean dog feces. Evidently, this double-entrendre suits The Chronicle censor's sensibilities just fine, whereas the Tea Party's on self description of themselves (see National Review onlin) as tea bag- offends his delicate sensibilities. More hypocrisy courtesy of The Chronicle editorial staff.

More sound bites and petty

More sound bites and petty sniping. I thought we'd moved past that.

KSL, if the only thing you have to offer is picking on a few misspellings then you appreantly have nothing of value to offer. Your other "comments" tend to support that, as well. BTW, Wizzard has a misspelled word; any comment on that one?

Wizzard, you say that Mr. Obama "was the driving force behind acorn and sub-prime lending that led to the colapse of the housing market." What proof do you have of either of these allegations? I mean real proof, not a link to some conservative web site that posts made-up garbage. Simply being acquainted with someone does not make you the driving force behind their organization or its activities.

It is comments like this one that I believe Ms Moore is talking about. Be adults and deal with actual facts, not made up propaganda that you can get away with posting simply because you can hide in cowardly fashion behind a nom de plume.

Now, the 2 that are still living have done an "about face" because they have seen the light of political reality-not the will of the American people-"No Amnesty for Illegal Aliena"!!

Nancy, shame on you. Unless

Nancy, shame on you. Unless you're a high school student that seldom, if ever, reads the paper, you seem to be confused by the mad Marxist's spin doctors. The economy is declining, the DOW is falling, unemployment is rising, taxes are rising, businesses are afraid to expand and many businesses are planning to end health care benefits. All phases of the American economy is shrinking, except government. obama is taking YOUR money and giving some of it back and claiming he's doing you a favor by growing government at every turn. Most of us don't like having a president that we have to negatively criticize , but the obamassiah leaves us no alternative. He's been MUCH worse than the worst president in the modern era - Carter. He plans a blitz of economy destroying bills before the turnover (after the November elections). If the Repubs can't stick together enough to block this fool, the country could very well become the invalid obama seems to desire. Piling on obama (and stomping on him) seems to be the best way to make sure no more of his lies go unchallenged. Cutting this anti-American Marxist any slack seem silly to me.

Nancy, you're telling me to

Nancy, you're telling me to lay off the most ignorant man to hold the office of President. This is my country. Obama goes around the world apoligizing for this country when we give, give, give. Now we're giving Greece 40 Billion and we will never see that money again. Also, why should I respect a President who cannot speak with out a machine telling him what to say. Watch him on a Q&A, he falls all over himself trying to answer a question.

Wow Nancy. The two programs

Wow Nancy. The two programs you toot Obama's horn for are EXACTLY what most of us have problems with. The government should not, in any way, be involved in funding programs such as jobs for teens or homebuyer tax credits. The government's meddling in private affairs is what got us in this mess in the first place.

We have a president in place who feels that the government should be involved in every, single, tiny aspect of our lives - so that he and his cronies can have more power. Fortunately many Americans agree and will correct this disaster in a few years.

Nancy, do you think that only people of your chosen party should be allowed to voice their concerns and complaints? Should we only be allowed to watch/listen to that of which you personally approve? Just because you believe in your news sources doesn't make them the truth. I'm wondering if you were silent when the republicans were in office and you disapproved of their policies or did you complain to any and all who would listen to you?

Obama supposedly knew what he was getting into when he fought for this job and he should be able to take the praise along with the disapproval.

It's not a facination with a teleprompter it's the difference of Obama's speaking pattern when he doesn't have one. It's really amazing if you watch him. When the teleprompter is not there he fragments just about every sentence in his answer. kitten35. Who cares what other countries think? Their opinion of what we do and who we elect is totally irrelevant. They still don't like Americans any more than they did 5, 10 or 15 year ago. Currently the polls show that less than half of American's approve of Obama and only 39% said they would vote for him again.
