New health-care agenda is outrageous

  • Follow Letters

So, the federal government now wants more control over our pocketbooks and even our health? They are forcing all Americans to adopt their socialist style of health care with a promise to manage these costs.

Really? That is like asking an alcoholic to manage a liquor store. New York Times columnist Douglas H. Eakin estimates this legislation will not only not deliver the promised $138 billion in deficit reductions, but instead will cost an estimated $562 billion more.

Our government already "manages" our retirement funds (Social Security), retirement health care (Medicare), our indigent health care (Medicaid) and our state and federal unemployment funds -- and all of these funds are financially a wreck.

Social Security already is paying out more money than it has taken in, Medicare and Medicaid are predicted to be completely bankrupt by 2014, and the state and federal unemployment coffers are all in deficit positions.

Would you ask them to manage your piggy bank?

It is still hard for me to believe that our country has endorsed socialism to this degree. Very sad. Where is our nationwide, patriotic revolt?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said our health-care system would now be on equal footing with Europe. Seriously? Europeans who can afford it come to the U.S. for health care.

If you have said nothing and done nothing so far to protest this law, it is never too late. Laws can change and they can change quickly if enough people speak in a united voice.

Since no hussein worshipper

Since no hussein worshipper will come forward to say they have read this new law,I must assume that none have. How does anyone support something without knowing about it?How many hussein worshippers would take a pill that hussein gave them with the instructions-"nobody knows what's in it,you don't need to know what is in it,just swallow it"

This president and congress
Unpublished

This president and congress rammed this healthcare bill down our throats even though polls showed the majority of Americans didn't want it. They did this AFTER they exempted themselves from it. This is the poster child for HYPOCRISY! How is this "change we can believe in?"

It's time to remove

It's time to remove "President" from Prezbhojangles name. There is nothing "Presidential" about this "ruler", marxist, dictator-wannabe. In November 2010 we need to vote out Pelosi, Reid, and all of the other traitors, and then repeal the Obamacare Health Care Deform plan, and in November 2012 finish the job by sending Mr. B. Husssein Obama and family back to Chicago where they belong!

wizzard. This healthcare

wizzard. This healthcare bill is the greatest thing that has ever happened to this country. It ranks right up there with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the creation of The Constitution and the end of the Civil War. Obama is our savior, our messiah, the greatest president ever! He did what Bush failed to do in just over one year (Bush & conservatives hate poor & sick people you know). And Pelosi, well, she is just a wonderful, caring individual who wants us to all be healthy.

It will do many things for us. First, it will inspire many doctors-to be to study real hard for 8 years to get through medical school & residency with the end goal of working for the government or at the very least being told by the government how much they can charge for services rendered. It will provide healthcare for those with pre-existing conditions (in 2014, maybe). It will lower premiums for everyone (not). It will increase taxes for everyone who pays taxes (all 50% of us). It will stop frivolous lawsuits (not). It will take care of all illegal aliens, after all, they deserve healthcare too. The new healthcare bill also give the US government 100% control over student loans (relates to healthcare how?!). It will increase taxes for young, healthy adults who don't want insurance at this time by imposing fines on them for lack of coverage. It will increase the US debt & deficit to new highs that our great-great-great grandchildren will still be paying for. Last but not least, it puts the US politicians firmly in control of our health and about 1/5 of the US economy.

So you see, this bill does many wonderful things. We really shouldn't rag on it too much.

The Healthcare Insurance Rape

The Healthcare Insurance Rape Law only says insurance companies must not DENY coverage to pre-existing conditions. The premiums will still be outrageous, the deductibles excessive, and many will choose to pay the fine instead.

No one seems to care about

No one seems to care about those losing their jobs due to the Government takeover of the student loan program, solely to reduce the "cost" of the Health Insurance Rape Law.

I see no one is rebutting the FACT there is a "doc fix" bill in Congress, restoring the pay cuts to doctors cited in the Health Insurance Rape Law as "medicare cuts". This bill was NOT included in the Health Insurance Rape Law ONLY so the press could say "it's under a trillion".

Wizzard, if you watched real

Wizzard, if you watched real news, instead of Fox and that other nonsense, you would know what was in the bill. It most certainly is not socialism. England has socialism--the government owns the hospitals and the doctors are government employees. Canada has private doctors and hospitals, but socialized health insurance. The US has neither, and never will. The Democrats' health insurance reform does not even have a public option.
