Courts, lawmakers thumb noses at us

  • Follow Letters

This is to express more frustration, anger and sorrow over our courts, government and some politicians.

A high-school girl musician who wanted to play Ave Maria on her saxophone at a school function in Everett, Wash., was denied that by school authorities and the courts because of the separation of church and state. The lower-court ruling upholding this denial is not serious enough for the U.S. Supreme Court to consider the case.

Two high-school lesbians demand the right to attend their high-school prom as a couple, one in a tuxedo and the other in a dress. The school said "no;" the courts said "yes."

A U.S. congressman, Bart Stupak, who professes to be against the killing of unborn babies (abortion) agreed to vote "yes" on a congressional law that would require all citizens to contribute to the payment for abortions. He then voted in favor of the bill when President Obama told him he, the president, would let the provision stay but would issue an executive order that federal funds would not be used for abortions. If that was the president's wish, he would have had it removed from the proposed bill.

The congressman is not stupid, nor does he have the religious beliefs he professed -- he's just a no-good politician.

55-f-100. I assume you are trying to impress your children with your brilliant prose. Maybe if you want to make a statement, you should try something other than gutter english taught on Rush the messiah mainstream media radio comedy hour.

By the way it would appear

By the way it would appear that CONServative RNC have no problem attending a sleazy bar with a lesbian theme, at donor expense naturally. What gives with their problem with a prom? As to Stupak, I didn't know he was elected by anyone in the CSRA. Why not let his constituents decide his fate. P.S. I think we democrats will not forget the way Barrow didn't vote for healthcare and I intend to vote for anyone but him next election.
