What is it with parades in the CSRA?
In Edgefield County, S.C., we have the Ku Klux Klan set to parade up and down the streets, spewing hate and discontent dishonoring our Christian symbols, our country's flag and our Southern symbols. Over in Augusta, we have homosexuals set to be on parade to push their perverted sexual agenda in our faces. What happened to the CSRA? Where are we headed?
Parades were for special events, like the Christmas parade to celebrate the birth of Christ; the Fourth of July parade to celebrate our independence; the St. Patrick's Day parade to celebrate the saint who helped teach the Holy Trinity; the Veterans Day parade to honor our veterans; the Memorial Day parade to honor those who gave all for us in war to be a free people; and a Confederate Memorial Day parade to honor our Confederate dead ancestors.
Our forefathers, when they drafted the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, intended these rights to do good, not evil. Both of these disgusting groups claim right to assembly -- to do what? Evil? They sure do not do anyone good but cause trouble. Think about that, people!
I think the homosexuals and the Ku Klux Klan should have their parade together. Perhaps they can march up and down the streets holding hands singing Kumbaya.
Well lookie here. Mr. Bernardi is back with his narrow-minded, Constitutional-be-damned rhetoric in his support to deny basic Constitutional rights to all Americans. To compare homosexuals to evil is as absurd as the mythical book in which you choose to let dominate your hate filled life.
And some on here would disagree that Christmas parades celebrate the birth of Christ. lol. Face it people, Christians will never, ever begin to give up their quest to oppress others and will at some point eventually begin yet another quest to eradicate the Earth of those who don't believe in their violent, cult-like religion. History continues to repeat itself.
Baron, I should have known you would show up spewing your hate speech against Christians. The practice of homosexuality is evil but not unforgivable. The Bible says there is only one thing that is unforgivable which is failing to accept forgiveness through Jesus Christ His Son. Why don't you give Jesus a try?
All things are good at all times to all people, who are exactly the same. It has been declared by the current messiah and will soon be passed into law. Once you are under this law we'll learn what it says and we'll all be accepting and thankful and experience peace and harmony forever. Think Obamacare.
Brimisjoshan, haven't you realized yet that once you refer to the bible, for whatever reason, you've lost all credibility with those that refuse to accept the weakness of the crutch you obviously rely upon in order to exist on a daily basis? I can’t speak for the Baronvonreich but I do not believe that many of us hate the christians as much as you so often imply. However, we are sick to death of those few christians that refuse to honor their lord by following his teachings that are recorded in Mathew 6:6, or those that continue to publicly proselytize day after day; just as you would begin to carp about any atheist that stood on a street corner and constantly encouraged/proselytized passing citizens to accept the sanity of atheism. Your "personal rights end" where "my personal rights begin". Tolerance of another's rights and beliefs does not necessarily mean "acceptance and embracing of those rights". Individual freedom to do whatever one chooses is CHAOS and ANARCHY. Freedom demands a Framework.
KKK and Gays marching together? That is one parade I might go watch just for the entertainment value alone.
GGpap, I am not worried about creditability with those who reject God and His Word. God's Word, the Bible, is what brings truth to what I am saying without it these would just be my opinions. The Bible is God's love letter and the laws by which we are to live by. Jesus is more than my crutch, He is my very foundation, the love of my life. Without Him, I would have no reason to live. When you realize that you have broken God's laws and deserve death and hell and then understand that Jesus loved you enough to take that death and punishment for you on the cross then you can't help but love someone who died for you. But as Easter represents, He did not stay dead but came back to life 3 days later and was seen by over 500 people. His disciples were martyred because they would not recant the truth of His resurrection. May God help you see the truth of His love for you!
I hate to break it to you Christians, but America is not a theocracy, it's a representative democracy. Everyone, including those whose views may be repugnant to you, are allowed to participate.
I thought Christmas parades were about Santa Claus and me getting lots of gifts. I thought the 4th of July parade was about hot dogs, BBQ and cold beer for me. I thought St Pattys parade was about lots of beer for me. I thought Veterans and Memorial Days were all about great sales for me. Freedom of speech has to include everyone or ain't none of us free. However, baronvonreich, the only religion I see calling for murder is Islam.
Please note that it was baron who first brought up the subject of Christians to attack and I was only setting the record straiight. Grouse, we are well aware that a theocracy does not come until later so we work within the guidelines that we are given. Last I checked the constitution allowed Christians their rights to. Is it not funny that all the tolerance in the world is promoted until it comes to Christians and as Willie said we are not ones trying to kill anyone.
Not one mention of homosexuality in the New Testament. When Jesus walked this earth he spread LOVE each other. And if he came back today? You probably wouldnt like HIM. And regarding the Old Testament? Goodness! Look at the scriptures regarding it and see what else is as equal to this "immorality" you preach.....Why you probably are doing it right now with your yarns of two different threads you wear? Let me make this clear. God loves us all. We are all sinners. NO SIN is greater than another - unless you just totally DENY Christ. "For WHOSOEVER believeth in HIM shall not persish....." and that includes us gay people. I am not perfect. Thank God HE came to save my sould. I was BORN this way and knew it at 5 years old. So did my parents. And all of you? YOU HAVE SEVERAL in your family too. There is not one family immune to homosexuals.... I can promise you that. We are in your schools teaching your children. We are in your pulpits preaching to you. We are EVERYWHERE. You may not recognize us? Oh, but we are here. And thank God we are just like you - saved. Those who judge and condemn us? Oh well. grouse, you must have slept though your civics class if you were still in school. The USA is a republic not a representative democracy. We are government by laws at less we were until this administration. You are correct all views are allowed even those of the muslin president.
SBTBOTNT, I do agree with some of what you say but you need to study the New Testament a little better. Because people would not accept God's truth he states, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions for their women exchanged their natural function for that which was unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman, and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their errors" Romans 1:26,27. The New Testament definately addresses homosexuality as unnatural, indecent, as sin, and in my opinion results in STDs like aids.
SBTBOTNT, sorry but I don't think that you were born that way. I think that either you chose to or were conditioned by your environment to choose to do so. I would recommend that as you accept God's gift of forgiveness you also seek to repent from such a lifestyle.

Maybe we're both wrong: "The term republic may have many different meanings. SBTBOTNT, I'm sorry to say that your last post causes me to pause because it sure doesn't project much love that Christ teaches us to have. I do not doubt your salvation but according to the New Testament it also speak "all things have passed away, behold all things new". So if your homosexual sinful nature is from the past and you have accepted Christ as the Lord and Master of your life, but you continue to practice that sin which Christ is suppose to release you from, then it appears He is not your Master, sin is. I'm not saying the sexual desires for someone of the same sex as you will vanish but by the Grace of God, He alone will help you resist the temptation and live according to Scripture. This is not in judgement of you, but many call Him Lord but know Him not. You said there is no mention of homosexuality in the New Testament, maybe you should refresh your scriptural reading and check out Romans. You referred to the Old Testament laws for the Isarelites on purification (yard of two different threads). Those laws no longer required for sacraficial cleanings because of the new covanent and we have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ dealth on the cross. I would think that as a minister you would know that.
While I have my doubts about you being a minister I will just take you at your word but you are not my pastor for 2 reasons. 1) I believe I could tell by your preaching which would lacks proper understanding of the New Testament and 2) I am the pastor of my church. willie - you may want to study history. From the Crusades to the Holocaust to the current wars of aggression to murders of doctors who perform abortions, Christians have murdered more people in the name of their religion than other other cult to ever walk the Earth.
SBT, saying you are a minister is about as believable as saying I am Abe Lincoln. But then agian, we have child molesters who are priests (but that doesn't make it right in the sight of God). I served in the military for 20 plus years to protect our Constitutional rights. If the KKK and the [filtered word] want to parade their sins, it is their right to do so in this nation and that is what I defended. If you don't like it, don't go to the parades. As for you atheists who spew hate for Christians and make the usual false accusations of "daily" prosthelatizing, Jesus said "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John4:16. As for methe Bible being a "crutch", I have never needed it or any other "crutch" to live my life, and don't take the Bible verbatim as soe do, especially the old testament.
Baron, which murderer of doctors claimed to be Christians? Like SBT claiming to be a minister, anyone can claim to be a Christian but NOT follow the teaching of Jesus or Commandments of God. As for the Church's history (Roman Catholic for the crusades and inquisition, etc), let's remember those who came here, came here to escape persecution from that church and the Church Of England. Islam IS the only recognized religion that preaches hate and killing of non-believers (infidels).

Let us compare the three Christian events (Crusades, Inquisitions, and witch trials) with the three atheistic events (Mao in China, Stalin in Russia, and Hitler in Nazi Germany). Just in those three atheistic events more than 100 millions deaths occurred. In the Salem Witch trials out of 140 accussed only 19 were hung, 1 was pressed to death and 13 died in prison. "Taken together, the Crusades, the Inquistion and the witch burnings killed approx. 200,000 people. Adjusting for the increase in population, that's the equivalent of one million deaths today. Even so, these deaths caused by "Christian" rulers over a 500 year period amounts to only 1% of the deaths caused by Stalin, Hilter, and Mao in the space of a few decades." (quote by Dinesh D'Souze). Maybe you need to do some more research and reading before laying all the blame at the feet of Christians. All these killings whether by Christians or Atheist are a shame but do you really want to be held accountable for actions of people who lived hundreds of years ago. Do you want to be held responsible for everyone who claims to represent your faith (or lack there of)? You can harp about Christians and how terrible they are but in truth, no group is better than the other, it's only that Christians are saved by Grace and believe in an eternal destiny with a heavenly Father named God Almighty, Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords. So Baronvonreich, as much as you dislike Christians, keep your facts truthful, and we will agree to disagree.
I want to thank everyone on here for their comments. (actually they give me some great sermon illustrations, LOL) I don't always agree for sure and will defend and debate sometimes very passionately what I believe but don't mistake me as one who does not care about people regardless of their sexual orientation or if they choose not to be Christian. I just feel that the misrepresentations of Christianity is one of the reasons why people are so turned off by it at time. This is why I try to keep my opinions based as much as possible on the Bible because it alone gives us the only opinion that matters which is God's. I am leaving town for a few days so some of you will get some relief from my bias, intolerant, ignorant posts. LOL Hope everyone has a blest day!

"You can harp about Christians and how terrible they are but in truth, no group is better than the other...." - well if no group is better than any other then why are churches exempt from paying taxes and why do so many Christians, just like this LTE author, want to dictate to others what they can and can not do? He is all for a Christmas parade or a parade for those things which he believes in but doesn't think they should be allowed if it is not something his beliefs endorse. How hypocritical can some people be?
