Haley would be outstanding governor

A few days ago in Aiken, I had the pleasure of hearing a striking presentation by Nikki Haley, an outstanding Republican candidate for governor of South Carolina. The lady is phenomenal -- a complement to her gender, to the Republican Party and to South Carolina. She has the qualifications -- and a no-nonsense understanding as to what it will take -- to be an effective governor for South Carolina.

Nikki has served in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 2004, and understands how the legislature works and what it will take to work effectively with it. She has an accounting degree from Clemson, and understands money, budgets and how to balance books. Also, she is the wife of a National Guard officer and the mother of two school-aged children, and understands the importance of the family, education for our children and national security.

Born in Bamberg, S.C., to immigrant parents, she has had to work hard and knows the benefits of work and of fiscal responsibility. She is amazingly intelligent and an articulate dynamo. When asked a question she can -- of all things for a politician -- answer the question. She is not without ideas, and carries with her the facility for clearly expressing them.

Not without honors, Nikki Haley has been recognized for her work in the legislature by the South Carolina Association of Taxpayers, the South Carolina Club for Growth and the Palmetto Family Council. I recommend that you expose yourself to her gifts by going on to www.nikkihaley.com and playing one of her videos. You will be as impressed as I have been.

Nikki Haley will be back to Aiken. You will benefit yourself by coming out and meeting her. South Carolina will have missed a great opportunity for betterment if she is not elected governor.
