The Augusta Chronicle provides meaningful information in several areas that enrich my life. I enjoy reading articles that help me achieve greater successes and increased satisfaction.
This time of year I am eager to give my best to lawn, plants and a vegetable garden. Your Friday Homestead section features Sid Mullis, Augusta’s director of the University of Georgia Extension Service Office. He writes in a direct, easy-to-read style that allows quick and clear understanding. His weekly articles are full of information about products and procedures that, if followed, will likely result in successful outcomes.
All year long proper preparations done at correct times are needed around my home. Mr. Mullis’ column does a great job in helping me know what to do and when to do it.
I enjoy reading what Mr. Mullis has to say. Thank you for sharing Sid Mullis’ helpful knowledge with us. Please keep his articles coming.

Yeah, what W.Franklin said. The AC is much more than just the editorial page.
The AC is " a window into the soul of the CSRA".
Well said Johnston.cliff & Deekster! Yes indeed! Thank you Mr. Boulineau, for your letter, which was both timely and thought provoking. I do concur, as without the AC, we would truly be left wanting. Thanks AC!
Sid is a good guy. Too bad the state is thinking seriously of closing all the extension service offices, including his.
The paper is important to a community. I hope the Chronicle survives in some form as the technology changes. It appears to be on the right track now, although more changes are bound to come.
I’ve been reading the paper starting with the comics as my first memories, sports next as I grew, then the front page and finally the editorials and every bit of minutiae in the paper. That was before the internet and when the paper was IT. Newspapers educated me.
I have stayed up all night to get the paper in the morning when I was in school to see if my name was mentioned after I played in a football game. Anyone else ever do that?
