Please note that our capitalist system donates more dollars to charities than any other, and we are the most generous nation on the planet when it comes to providing help in times of trouble, via doctors, nurses, supplies, shelter, equipment, etc. IE: The ongoing Haiti relief efforts. My guess is that some folks, with ingrained leftist views, just cannot fight back the urge to denounce the opinions of anyone that has a differing viewpoint.

Socialism is a great system until the "humanitarians" running it out of other peoples money to spend! The Federalist is correct! For example Joe Biden out of a million dollar income gave about $1,200.00 to charity! Many of our socialist allies also put camera's in puplic places, on the roads, at street lights (take your car and encroach on a cross walk and the owner of the car gets a very expensive ticket with a nice glossy 3 X 5 of the incident) etc. Gas taxes are are so high gass is over $5/gallon is that what you want? Doesn't anyone find it interesting that Rush, that great bastion of conservatism, has pledged that, should the Health Care bill pass, he will move to Costa Rica. They have one of the very best socialized medical programs that is paid into by everyone there, resident or not, regardless of whether they use it or not. Isn't that what we call "jumping from the frying pan into the fire?"
The end cost to the consumer is said to be etremely cheap with care that rivals, if not exceeds, what they could get here. Isn't that also what we would call "off-shoring?"

I don't really see the connection between health care and gas taxes. High taxes are a tried and true method of controlling consumption of a scarce resource. Seriously, if you had to pay $5 for a gallon of gas, would you fill up your 20-gallon SUV and then drive 2 blocks to the store to get a loaf of bread? Or would you think about walking?
We (that includes Republicans) have used very high excise taxes to try to steer people toward buying domestically produced goods instead of imported goods.
BTW, under the last administration there were many traffic cameras installed in this country. There was a rsponse when people claimed it violated their right to privacy. It was something like, "if you aren't doing anything wrong then you have nothing to hide. So what's the issue?" That was a Conservative response BTW.
Even the term "health care" is a scam. We are talking about "medical care". Most folks want it to be "absolutely free of charge". And it is not semantics. The government wants you to talk about "health care" because you will not receive "medical care" under their plans. You better get on t he "healthy choice wagon" or you are "off to the gulag". How "anti social" can you be, you diabetic, obese, hypertensive, asthmatic "sickie". We can't have a "great society" with medically dependent citizens. "Off with their heads".

grouse - No one has "rights" that require other people to work for them for free or give them things. Rights require only that others leave you alone - i.e., do not deny you the right to worship as you see fit, do not deny you freedom of speech, etc.

Rush Limbaugh was referring to the private medical tourism aspect of Costa Rica's health care system, which provides much more affordable prices, primarily due to their doctor's not having to worry about million dollar awards from bleeding heart liberal juries. Tort reform would do the same thing here, but of course Mr. Hussein is in bed with the trial lawyers here in the US, so that is not going to happen any time soon. Just like the lamestream media, Orgpsych picks on the "Demon" of the right and twists his words to match his deluded agenda and further muddy the waters. The average citizens have long waiting lines, rationed care, due to a shortage of well trained doctors, and government panels that decide which treatments the average citizen can or cannot have, based on many factors, the primary one being age. Orgpsych, I was refering to England, Germany and France that all have a universal health care system. Just becuase they do something doesn't mean we should! India is gearing up too become a major "medical tourist" center. The folks that support this garbage of a health care bill will end up with 3rd world medicine while the "rich" (those that can afford) it will leave the country like the prime minster of the Canadian Providence when he came to the US for heart surgery! Ever wonder how the Planet will look in 30, 50 or 100 years? Start with a representative of each geo-political region(i.e. European Union, North American, African, Asian, etc. Unions). Evolve into One World government. It's going to happen one day but I was just curious to how it will be structured.

I can`t believe all the gripers. Rush should be run out on a rail tar and feathers trailing. We already have "socialist" institutions here. Your police dept., fire dept., schools, most colleges, etc. As for gas prices let`s see where it goes. My car could run for more than a year on what a single FA-18 uses in 90 minutes and that`s if he does not turn on the afterburner, then it`s only 15 minutes. How much to run the multi-engined ships? Why haven`t they all become atomic powered? Tanks can`t get very good mileage. THAT`s why gas is so high. You would think a new, renewable source would be there to keep costs down. Find where it`s all going and stem the flow. Insurance companies have to charge exhorbitant fees to help pay all those repubs that are against the health bills. You gotta be objective. Just continuosly saying no or mis-labeling something for theatrics may work on a bunch that need to hear that to further their own agenda but that is not in our best interests. Business doesn`t care what`s in our best iterests, just what makes them the most of YOUR money....
