Health-care summit wasn't that great

  • Follow Letters

As expected, the local minion of the leftist Democratic Party, Lowell Greenbaum, sent his propaganda message to the paper ("Health-care summit was huge success," Feb. 26). He tries to paint a picture of a wonderful leader who is doing such great things.

A couple of key points that he left out:

He stated that President Obama held a transparent meeting in the health-care summit. Why did he fail to mention anything about Obama's lie to the American people when, during his campaign, he said that he would broadcast his team's health-care crafting meetings live on CSPAN -- but meetings have been held without any press even being present, much less broadcasting live? If Obama is so transparent why does he refuse to furnish a birth certificate? If he would just do that one thing he would gain back much of his credibility.

Greenbaum said Obama's claim that the Democrats would pass health care without any Republican support would be great for Americans. Why, then, do all the latest polls show that the majority of Americans don't want it in its present state?

Greenbaum also uses the famous leftist strategy of fear-mongering by stating that, without this health-care package, thousands of Americans will die. Thousands of Americans die each day, and no matter what kind of health-care program is in place thousands will still die each and every day.

If you want to realize the real truth about Obama, just look at the people he has as his closest aides and advisors. The pasts of these people and Obama himself are clouded with a love of Marxism.

Every bit of additional government control stifles the freedom principles that this country was founded upon. Let's get back to the Constitution as the law of the land.

Not only will they pass the

Not only will they pass the bill without any republican support they are also systematically working to pass it without any democrat opposition.

Threats, buying of votes & research into the private lives of Congressmen who plan to vote no will ensure a "yes" vote by all dems or at least it will make sure that they aren't there to vote. Shameless & Scandalous! That's what you get when you have Chicago-style mob politicians in charge.

But, not to worry, "a change is gonna come". First on a beautiful Fall Tuesday this November and again on another fine November day in 2012.

Tigger: I don't need anybody

Tigger: I don't need anybody to pay for my health-care or anything else for that matter. If you can't see what's broken with the system then I'll spell out a little of the obvious to you. A person can't get individual coverage w/ a pre-existing condition, insurance cos. look for any way to avoid paying a claim w/ an individual policy, and the cost associated w/such policies are prohibitive to most individuals. The lobbyist for Wall St., Big Pharma., the insurance industry, etc. control the politicians in both Parties. We go to war based on lies and unprepared( the body armor and vehicle armor debacle). We have lost our manufacturing base, have high unemployment and our prison population is the highest in the industrialized world. Need I go on, Tigger the Tiger? Do you depend on ACES, Fox News and a gov't education for your world outlook?

BTW, let the large majority

BTW, let the large majority that you speak of lose their jobs and group coverage and them we will see how happy they are. It's coming and sooner than most think. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Why? Because they soon find that they weren't tough to begin with. I think you know what I mean. I'll repeat, the SYSTEM IS BROKEN!

And the right is in an uproar LOL... OMG Nuts. You crazies live in fear everyday. I wonder if one of those crazy popular wingnuts most of you listen to and or follow were to start spewing the world is going to end on this day and time, and says everyone who disagrees with Obama must be at this place on a certain day and time because of something he said which gave them a "revelation" the world is going to end from his words. 99% of you will be there, BRACING LOL.....

Reader, would you expect to

Reader, would you expect to be given car insurance AFTER you crash your car? I suppose you think insurance for preexisting conditions should cost the same, even though you will get more benefit.
Again, what is wrong with the system that a responsible person can't handle?

Tigger: I don't have the

Tigger: I don't have the patience nor the inclination to spend my day on this thread arguing with closed minds. I would expect to get coverage, after I wrecked my car, on another car. I would also expect the rate to be higher than some one with a clean driving record. However, your analogy is weak. Some people aren't born perfect. Should we as a great society turn our backs on them? I might add that some of them are very bright and productive. No, I don't think a sick person's coverage should cost the same as a healthy person. That would be irrational, impractical and moronic. Now, I have addressed your issue. Can you address the other issues that I have with the broken system.

This country is being LOOTED

This country is being LOOTED and folks want to spend their time bickering over Dems vs GOP. The power brokers control both Parties. I just don't see how it could be more obvious unless they held a press conference and begged all suckers to listen up. Divide, then conquer. But hey, if it makes you feel superior or provides entertainment, it is your right to do so. However, all parties must end. Will you be able to deal with it like others around the world have had to?

So if you have a condition

So if you have a condition that you KNOW will cost more than you pay, you DO want someone else to pay for your healthcare. Insurance is about risk management. If you rrequire insurance companies to counsel all conditions, they'll quickly go out of business. Then where will you get insurance?

Insurance is a business much

Insurance is a business much like any other. It's goal is to provide a service that is desired by many at a price deemed affordable by many. Ever notice that folks who make low wages tend to live in a smaller home than you see in the estate section of West Lake? That's because they can't afford it. That's why there are cheaper insurance policies that provide less coverage. That's life. If you can't afford it, you can't have it. It's really that simple. No one is turned away from ER's with a life threatening condition however. If they are poor they simply don't pay for it. End of story. Your insurance, or lack of it, doesn't stop you from having any medical procedure. Your lack of money does. It will always be that way.

A man once had a bicycle. He

A man once had a bicycle. He went to work, school and church on his bicycle. When he had to carry a large package, he had a little cart he could pull with his bicycle. His mode of transportation was faster than walking, but had it's shortcomings. Long distance was a challenge. Large packages were a challenge. Taking groups of people with him was a challenge. Improvements could be made. One day, while riding his bicycle, a man riding a very large horse ran over the bicycler and crushed his bike and broke his back so he could no longer ride or even walk. Change was forced on the bicycler by a more powerful entity and there was nothing to be done about it. **** The moral to the story is that all changes aren't improvements. And some changes make improvement very difficult. **** The Obama messiah as president is a huge mistake and it's up to every American to do what they can to survive until he and his minions can be done away with.

Tigger; You accused Cain of

Tigger; You accused Cain of running from you because he didn't answer your question. Are you doing the same? I imagine Cain is wiser than I because I am trying to reason with a closed mind. There isn't enough time in the day to address all the nefarious scenarios that insurance cos. use to screw people. Just use your computer to research them. I will give one example: a man had LIFE insurance and was shot to death. His insurance co. refused to pay because he omitted a pre-existing condition. What did that have to do with his death? Absolutely nothing. I can understand one being against gov't heath-care but to think that the system is not broken is foolish and/or naive. Have a great life, youngster.

Maybe I missed the question.

Maybe I missed the question. What question did I not answer? As for the life insurance question you asked.... first it is my suspicion that you just made that up. Second, if he is guilty of a breach of contract that would have kept him from getting insurance then the contract is void. Had he told the truth, he would not have been covered either.

What started this ordeal is that I simply made a statement of "the system is broken". A system consist of more than one component. Re-read my 12:41 post and address the system reference. Now, you suspect me of lying because it sounds so outlandish but it's true. Read it for youself and google for many more unbelievable stories.http://idle.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/04/24/1715229

reader54, that's a pretty extreme example of what insurance companies do. I would submit that if most Americans are happy with their insurance coverage, there is not a whole lot of screwing going on. By the way, maybe you need to read up on contract law.

Are you saying that the guy lied in order to get life insurance, but since THAT isn't what killed him, they should honor his fraudulent policy?
_______________________

Let's extrapolate this and see what arises:

No longer will you have to worry about lying to obtain a job...
No longer will you have to worry about lying to gain benefits...
No longer will you have to worry about lying to gain political office...
No longer will you have to worry about NOT BEING ABLE TO READ THE CLAUSE THAT SAYS ANY UNTRUTHFUL STATEMENTS VOID THE AGREEMENT....

If the PIQ lied to obtain insurance, the insurance company is beholden to it's shareholders and customers to refuse the claim.

Don't lie, don't worry bout it. Lie and get what you deserve. What a concept!

Even with the Obama PR

Even with the Obama PR machine (ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN and pretty much 95% of newspapers) cranking literally full time with support for the healthcare bill, public approval is still only 42% (and of those, only 20% of those strongly support it).

What has happened to this country? Why do so many want the government to control virtually 100% of our lives? It is very sad. I am sad for my kids & future grandchildren.

No, I'm not saying the guy lied. Most people w/ Hep C are unaware of their illness. Check-out the 11:24 post. There are many more if you care to research yourselves.
