God blessed American in election

  • Follow Letters

The special election held to fill the vacant U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts was nothing less than an answer to a prayer. Only God could have set all the details in place.

It is not in the best interests of the United States for our leadership to become so unbalanced. In utter dismay, we watched them try to ramrod health-care legislation through that would lead this country into bankruptcy and great despair.

They hadn't counted on the voices of God's people praying for intervention.

Carole P. Hayes

Whoever get's the credit, the arrogant politicians on the left seem to have gotten the message. The "realignment shuffle" seems to have become the dance du jour in congress.

So God is a Republican? Ted Kennedy was stronger than God since he got re-elected so many times? It's wasn't God's will that Obama be elected? Christians really have some tortured logic!

God is neither republican or

God is neither republican or democrat. God has a purpose and a plan for all things and when He hears his people pray then He is moved to help His people as long as it does not thwart His main plan. Even though I don't like Obama's policies God allowed America to choose its own leader and accept the consequences of that choice. But when God's people pray then He is moved to act in a way to deliver us from the oppression of a President that wants to make us a socialist country, take away our freedoms and put the government in control of everything. Yes, Christians were praying diligently for Scott Brown to win not because he is some perfect person but because he could help put a stop to a healthcare plan that would enslave us to a government that would then have full control of our lives. Once the government owns healthcare then it gives them the right to make silly laws like how much salt you can eat because it affects your health. Yes, Mr. McCall you are right. God's people prayed and God answered. PTL

Your gratitude is misplaced

Your gratitude is misplaced Ms. Hayes. It was Republican science that saved the day in Massachusetts, proving that tea leaves, burrowing marmots and tin foil hats work against a weak candidate. Due to a recent earthquake, however, the voodoo doll market has skyrocketed. Only insurance companies can afford such high-tech instruments now.

The prayer of America should

The prayer of America should be "forgive our transgressions as we forgive those that have trespassed against us. and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil". When the king (government) sins, all the people suffer. When individual people sin they suffer in many different ways, as well. As King David prayed, "God forgive me and return unto me they spirit". Acknowledgment of "sickness" is the first step to heal the human "sickness".

Prayer to God must be within

Prayer to God must be within the "will or purpose of God". To pray for trivial or selfish desires to come true is to "mock God". God has stated many times in His Word that He will provide for all our needs. Our prayers should be for those that are "lost and suffering" as a result of sin.

I didn't realize God was so

I didn't realize God was so interested in politics. So should we blame God for letting Bush get elected, and raping our country for eight years?

Wow this LTE is so ridiculous I don't even know where to begin. Some people will obviously believe anything to promote their agenda regardless of how absurd it really is.

The most difficult and almost

The most difficult and almost impossible role of the Christian is not avoidance of sin, it is to the "pray for those who have authority over you". It is like a contradiction man, big time.

I guess god was really mad at

I guess god was really mad at the little girl on the tin can on the counter in a store in Grovetown last month. That was the girl dying because god gave her a deadly disease and forgot to give her the money to get better. What I can't figure out is how a 10 year lod girl made god soooo mad to begin with because she has had the problem since she was an infant. In any event I guess god has decreed that if you got no money it is just too bad, yuh gotta go and make room for those that do have the gold. That must be why he gave us a sign in Mass.
