Money talks louder than ever in D.C.

In 2006 it became obvious to the American voters that our Republican Congress and president were severely mismanaging the economy to a point where it might be called malfeasance. So we cleared Congress on the House side to try to rebuild our economy.

The die had been cast, however -- a way had been found to market property at ever-inflating rates, and to make vast amounts of money by trying to make the debt of these inflated assets solid securities. It's fraud on a massive scale. Our economy was wrecked and the inflated property values collapsed, showing the true value of these bad assets. This paper was sold all over the world to support the war on terror, and to buoy our crashing banks.

The election in 2008 should have closed the book on these mistakes, but the same forces that were made rich by this fraud are now in power again -- not the Republicans or Democrats, but investment banks and bankers.

We finally have undercut our nation. Our democracy diminished the value of the vote of individuals by multiplying that vote by who has the loudest voice and the most money.

Housing bubble was a direct

Housing bubble was a direct result of the misguided Community Reinvestment Act and ensuing political pressure from government bank regulators to make loans to those who could not afford to repay them, NOT anything the private sector did.

The housing bubble hasn't

The housing bubble hasn't popped yet. All the TARP program did was prop up artificially high home prices. Just wait folks, it's going to get very bad, very soon. Keep your gold close, and your ammo closer. Chaos is unavoidable.

Welcome to the Union of Socialist States Reformed. The new USSR. The bread and toilet tissue lines are on the way. Our leader says this "revolution" will make us stronger. He has historical data to back up his theories. Relax"comrades". Prepare to queue and inform on your neighbors. Who has more than two shoes? Who prays in their closet? Who speaks against the great leader?

I think Michael brings up a

I think Michael brings up a great point, What are are you so upset about that he spoke the truth and said that under Bush and the republican congress the deficit increase by more then any other president. the same thing is happening under Obama. I know that 52% of people didn't graduate from high school in GA. is this where the 52% hang out? You don't think that money influences the election. REALLY! oh yea, keep your ammo closer oh man what a smart guy! Must be another one of those 52% people and I will probably see him on the dumbest criminal you know the show where 80% of the dumb a-- are from the south. No I'm not liberal I'm still looking for a true conservative that puts our country first and is smarter then Palin and not as crazy as Beck.
